On this journey called life, I have had the opportunity to meet some interesting people. In this phase of my life it is more about to have quality connections over quantity. I remember a time on FB when it was all about how many friends do you have, it didn’t matter if YOU knew them or not. Relationships are supposed to authentic and challenge YOU to be better. If I have to “become” someone else whenever YOU are around that is not a friendship I am interested in having. If I am not becoming better as a result of our friendship, its time for me to do my annual friendship inventory. If a person is not becoming better as a result of their friendship with me, they need to re-evaluate the friendship. I have come to realize that relationships are necessary. Not just any Willy Nilly relationship, but strategic GOD connections and lifelines are crucial to our survival. So often, I hear people say, "I do not need anybody, I can do it all by myself", and I think YOU poor misguided soul, why are YOU lying to YOURSELF?! Of course, we need people in our lives, to love, live, and share with. The key is to find the right people, with genuine intentions. Jim Rohn says that we are the average of the five people we spend the most time with. It’s true! We are a product of our connections. The people we choose to share our space with will either give us life or kill us slowly! Are YOU being killed due to YOUR connections? Are the people in YOUR life draining YOUR energy? Misery does love company and if YOU are miserable we can’t keep company! Are the people in YOUR life secretly preying on YOU?!
