meet one of my characters siblings.

It's a looming presence that greets you at first, like you're not sure how to greet him, but then he tilts his head like a puppy, and his presence, his very AURA shifts to match it. "Are you coming in from downstairs? I don't think I'm supposed to be having any visitors today." He looks down at his schedule, pressing his fingertips against it for a moment before sliding it away, grinning nonetheless before resting his chin on top of his hand.

An amused chuckle left Mira's lips as they curled into a matching grin. Legs stretched out in front of her as she relaxed into her own chair. "I think I'm well past the age of being frightened away from anything...or anyone."

Atieno could very well see when someone was unnerved by their gaze. Not the first time or the last, but it wasn't going to make them change the look.

They also noticed the way that he couldn't match their look, the closing of the lighthouse door. It seemed like there had been something quite interesting happening here.

Although, it's obvious that getting an answer wasn't very likely.

Can't exactly blame him either.

"I mean, of course. I just thought I'd take the risk and ask. It's not like you have any obligation .. to really answer me either."

Did he even have a reason to want to answer? A good question, reasons for Atieno to keep their expectations low.

    Was it so hard to believe? What had been in his opinion a grandiose introduction left him deflated by the others’ words. “It’s real. I’m real! I don’t understand all the disbelief, really.” As he spoke, he adjusted the cuffs of his suit without breaking eye contact. “The amount of times I’ve heard someone on the street claiming that ‘ the devil walks among us ’ and yet you’re always surprised when I tell you, that yes, he does and he is the charming gentleman right in front of you.” After a beat, that prideful ego was back on full display. “Oh, no, I see! You all never expect me to be so charming and handsome!” That was it. Problem solved.
