Bill Evans and Nardis: A History
Steve Silberman’s lengthy essay revolves around Bill Evans’s beginnings and end. It is quite a fascinating piece of historic writing with great creative construction and style. It begins with Blue Mitchell’s first trip to New York to record Nardis with Cannonball Adderley and Evans, then moves through Miles in the late fifties, Evans starting his trio and making Nardis a permanent prt of his repertoire and finally arcs to the end of Bill’s career. Magnificent writing.
