Had my last NaNoWrMo club meeting today and I'm kind of sad about it. It's going to be weird starting nanowrmo next year without my teacher/club leader. It's also going to be weird not using the young writers program and instead using the main website.
An excerpt from my NaNoWrMo piece “The Blue Balloon”
(This piece was written last nanowrmo, so my style has changed a lot since then)
I shake my head. We are then approached by another Official, who comes out from seemingly nowhere. He holds a balloon in his hand and my heart begins to race.
The balloon is light blue with silver swirling in different designs. It seems to be glowing from the inside, the magic that will show me my destiny. This balloon holds my destiny.
I hold out my arm, already knowing what needs to be done. The string of the balloon is tied around my wrist. Not too tight, but tight enough that it won’t slide around. Please world, don’t let me faint before I can even start.
“Thank you,” I press out, unsure how I am still even breathing.
“Well wishes,” he says before leaving. His footsteps trail behind, but I don’t look back to watch him. Instead, I turn back around to face the door and straighten myself out. This is it, my destiny is in my hands and it’s only a matter of time before it is revealed.
“Ready?” the lady asks, and I give a careful nod. She unclips something from her shirt, a remote are communication device, and presses a button. “Well wishes,” is said before my attention is completely taken up.
We are near the end
NaNoWrMo is almost over for the year. I hope everyone managed to accomplish their goals and enjoyed their writing time. As I have been told, we should just write this month because we have the rest of our lives to edit. My work from nanowrmo will one day be published and I should continue to work on it every November until I am able to spend all my time on it.

Finished my NaNoWrMo goal today! On the ywp.nanowrmo page, it is so satisfying to see the winning page and the videos are always fun. This year I focused on 10k words because this month was supposed to be a break from my main writing and now I'm going to miss my story. I have a few days of an actual break until it's time to get back to writing. It's going to be weird to not write.
So, how is nanowrmo going for everyone? I have forgotten how to make a decent plot line and am using excessive description to hide the fact that I have no idea what I am doing.
Something about NaNoWrMo I didn’t expect is how much I would miss writing my main book. But I need a break from it. The struggle
