Nine years ago Alaric got an addition to his brain he was never really planning on having; a powerful piece of experimental tech that has given him honest to God superpowers, and that's cool and all as far as an origin story is concerned, but something tells him he's not exactly getting a comic book based off his life. What would it even be called anyway. 'The Hourly Depressive Existential Crisis: Empath Roulette With Alaric Ross'? Sounds too wordy… Navigating college crushes is hard as a freshman, it's even harder when you've got a nanobug chewing on your neurons.
Notes: You don't need to be familliar with the webcomic to understand this fic, it's short but it mainly centers around Alaric and him having a crisis over his shitty empath powers he can't control. I especially love the part where his sexuality fluctuates so much because of his powers that he constantly has an identity crisis.
