#nano 18

I’ve been napping a bit, and just did a writing session of about an hour, where I wrote 2,085 words on TTSBA! I’ve got two scenes done!

I’m only missing three more scenes (a bit longer ones, sure, but only three!) and then the post-credits scene (a short but sweet one) and I’ll be done with TTSBA!

Are we excited about that? I know I am!

Here’s a little excerpt from what I wrote tonight:

“Putting her fingers under Thor’s chin, she forces him to look up. He has tears in his eyes - in this moment, Queen Ramonda reminds him of his own mother, Frigga, so very much. She would do all in her power to strengthen her son’s position and make sure that he didn’t forget where he came from.”

New blog: My NaNoWriMo 2018 results. I didn’t win this year, but it wasn’t a bad experience. I’m super happy I participated! It got me in the writing mood again, which is something I realize I really needed; for a while I had stopped feeling like a writer. 

I also talk a bit about my SFF novel, which is finally on its way to being done! Well, the first draft. 

(I forgot to write a winner post on Day 30 cuz I went out with friends after finishing and got drunk and fell asleep watching Netflix ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ )

Technically I hit 50k on Day 29 but I finished my novel, WHAT.  I HAVE A NOVEL. IT’S A PIECE OF SHIT AND I INTRODUCED SO MANY CHARACTERS AND PLOT POINTS IN THE BEGINNING ONLY FOR THEM TO NEVER BE SPOKEN OF AGAIN BUT I WROTE A NOVEL.

I’m feeling extra proud of this year because normally, I just hit 50K without actually finishing the novel, so I have 3 unfinished novels just sitting on my computer and they’ll probably stay unfinished. But the fact that I wrote a complete novel (no matter how bad it is) feels good! I haven’t done that since my first year (which was an even worse novel and thank god I lost it when my computer crashed in high school).

All that being said, for the first time, I’m not sure if I’ll do it again next year. I didn’t have the same excitement that I did in years past and I wasn’t feeling as motivated, creative, or inspired either. So I might take NaNoWriMo 2019 off and see what it’s like to not do it. After all, I have been doing it for 8 years, so i don’t remember what it’s like to just have the month to relax.

After finishing my novel, I felt like this.

apparently yes. will wonders never cease. actually i tried to finish even sooner but honestly even this soon is pretty impressive.

of course, because my luck is terrible, my wph today was garbage. part of it was that i once again ended up writing a super difficult scene on the last day of the month (though i think it ended up okay... we'll see tomorrow i guess) and part was just tiredness.
