waiiiiit are you all about dogs because I'M all about dogs and it's a constant struggle to find people who get/know/understand dogs like i do but you DO??? omg hiiii. like. i have an au in my head where the boys all show on the conformation circuit, like, i know what dog breed they would show and why and everything this is great news i love finding fellow dog people yayyyy
I AM REALLY SUPER-DUPER ABOUT DOGS??? like my favorite breed that i know the most about and that i will like start a fight over is the standard poodle -- "la maison des caniches", which is what i've titled my blog, means "house of poodles" in french -- but in all honesty ALL DOGS.
well no MOST DOGS like i am not a fan of breeds that are so small that you run a real risk of not noticing them when they're on the couch and therefore sitting on them and doing them real injury. and i have an ~ugly dog~ cutoff line, and it lies between pugs on the "nope" side and boston terriers and french bulldogs on the "yas gurl brang it" side, haha. and of course i have opinions about different breeds' typical intelligence/trainability and temperament.
but okay when i was 10 my mom and i got a puppy!!!! and we were 98% sure we wanted a poodle, but we did a TONNNNN of research just to make sure and so i've got all sorts of weird little half-remembered facts left over from that. it ended up ALMOST being a tie between a bernese mountain dog and a standard poodle, and (true confession) the thing that tipped the scale was that poodles don't shed / are more or less hypoallergenic. stella was unequivocally the BEST DOG IN THE WORLD even though she couldn't swim despite the fact that poodles are water dogs and she lived til she was 14 and change and i still miss her. i have met people who remain kind of unattached to the dogs they own and imma say right now for the permanent record that I DON'T GET IT.
UGH i'm sorry this is such a long answer to a relatively simple comment of an ask i just love dogs SO MUCH. like the way most people coo at babies on the street, i coo at dogs. all of them. all the time. dogs > babies. one of the best parts of owning a dog is that you don't just get to hang out with that one perfect darling dog that becomes your family, you also get so SOCIALIZE WITH OTHER DOGS (and their owners i guess??? wtfever) when you take your dog to the park or the dog run. :))))))))))
and UM TELL ME ABOUT THIS AU IN YOUR HEAD this is so important, i would read eight squillion words of a fic like that. one of the best days of my life was going to the westminster kennel club show. one of the best movies in the WORLD is best in show.
