Princess tutu would fit so incredibly well into the world of namesake. The main character is a literal duck who gets written into an important character by a writer/muse(?) ((the idea of Drosselmeyer being a muse is terrifying, but it also definitely fits)) who’s gone mad enough to steal Names and give them to his various “characters”, including his own descendent.
Princess Tutu was definitely a Namesake who didn’t make it out and got her Name stolen, while Duck is more like Fred.
Fakir is a bit of a weird situation because he’s a writer but he's also the Knights Namesake (I don’t actually know if that’s allowed in canon but let me dream). He also accidently gave Mythos a new Name when they were younger (or maybe one of his ancestors did idk) which is why he has a different name from the story. Siegfried is the name Drosselmeyer has control over.
Rue was given the Name Kraehe by the Raven so that it (and Drosselmeyer) would be able to control her.
After the series Duck and Fakir realize that Duck’s way too much of a person to actually be happy being a duck anymore, so they go off to try and hunt down/create a Name for her so that she can turn back into a person. This may or may not lead to them finding Emma, Powerful Writer Extraordinaire, but unfortunately I have not read enough of the series to decide how that would go down.
