Few Days Away From Being Officially ‘Female’ (My MtF~HRT Journey)
Early this morning I went to Bainbridge Island to submit my ‘Gender Marker Change Form’ To Dr. Worth to have ready when I decide to head to the DMV. Traffic was terrible! I wanted to drop the form off at 8am, but arrived almost an hour late. (Thank God I didn’t have an appointment today!) I was hoping to have it signed then and there...but that never happened.
Considering the distance to drive, I might not pick up that form until June 12th, when I head to Bainbridge for my psych-evaluation to see if I really suffer from gender dysphoria.
After dropping off my Gender-Marker form, I went to the Silverdale Kitsap Credit Union to have my form notarized. I will say this...Sarah Hall, at the KCU is very nice and professional as she notarized my Birth Certificate name change form and I immediately took it to the Norm Dicks Government Center (the Department of Health) to have my birth certificate made and then head to the Social Security office to update my SS card...but to my dismay, they don’t change birth certificates there and it has to be mailed to Olympia. So it was a mad dash to head home to get a check to get a copy of my new form and mail the application out this day.
Home, I was somewhat disappointed in my set back, and further agitated when I learned that I could have changed my Social Security information today. Some reason, I thought I needed two pieces of evidence: My drivers license and a birth certificate. But upon review, all I needed was my license and if needed, my Medicare card! Lol! Wow! I feel like a ditz!
With a new plan in place, I now await my chance to update my license and SS-card. It is vital to do so as my medical is through the government and state and with the court order, this could cause a discrepancy. Second, before I can proceed with updating my car insurance and bank, I need a hard-copy license as they won’t take paper copy for security reasons (which I am happy about). I expect when all is said and done, I’ll have 80% of my information switched over to my new name!
