04. Sweat welled up in the chest, and ran down to the belly. It’s been hours Robin looked down and tried to find the hottest stone possible. It had to be hot like to the degree of the sun’s temperature. Robin picked one that was sitting along the river bank and held it softly in the palm of his hands. Smooth and warm it was, just like a heart that jumped out of a little bird, just like him how little and small he was! Robin stood and studied the stone closely. That stone bore the warmth of the sun travelled thousands of light years away. Robin thought for a little while, is it my eyes taking a bit more effort to process that the warmth and love from the sun just travelled down to the earth to this stone. Why out of all the stones along the river, it had to be this one, the lover of the sun. It almost burnt Robin’s little hand, but he did not move –should I bring this as a gift for mom as a summer surprise, she seemed awfully quiet lately, it’s not like her. She used to chatter away like a singsong bird of how I should put on the sun cream all over my body. How silly, why should I put that liquidity thing all over and let it drip down. It’s never going to get soaked to the skin. It’s going to stay on WET, like the time I painted on the glass it went RUNNING DOWN. I’m going to stay HOT like this little stone, I want to be sun showered by the light too. The heat is the proof of our love. Robin stopped, looked at his watch then to the sky. –ok its for mom, we would talk about the stone. He tied the shoelace and then ran in the direction opposite of the river, into the cool and dark breeze of the forest, still burning that little mark tightly in his hand. 04. 얇은 국경을 넘자 땅 아래에서는 짧은 신음이 새어 나왔다. 해는 벌써 노란색이라는 뜻이니까, 숨을 곳이 없어 가까이 있는 눈먼 땀냄새와 얽히고 뒤섞였다. 갑작스레도, 서서히도 오지 않는 아버지로 또 한번의 신음이 허공에서 부서졌다. 뭔가 가득 담겼는 바다가 하얀 뙤약볕을 반으로 멱살이라도 잡는 것처럼 위로 밀어올리며 바닥으로 떨어져 구겨진 땅을 문질렀다. 규칙적 신음으로 모래를 당겨 담았다. 넓은 만큼 깊은 바다가 매번의 신음을 삼켰다.
