Stares off into space a lot. Sometimes he asks people for permission to do regular things, it’s really embarrassing and sometimes he’s just said “excuse me”, realized his mistake, and is now awkwardly having to come up with something to say instead on the spot.

my ask might come as silly as a bit long, so i'll apologize in advance. in this story i'm creating (and might be a webcomic), i noticed most of the characters are foreig/have foreign roots, and the country they live in is suppose to be a latin country, and while we do have a bunch of foreigner people here, i worry people might think of it as unrrealistic, i planned to like explain the city they live in has a lot of immigrants, but i felt it could give off a bad vibe (or i'm too anxious) (1/2)
(2/2) and of the subject of foreign characters, i’m also worried they might come off as stereotypes even though i’ve spent the last weeks developing them as much as possible to avoid it (i.e the typical trope of all asians are geeky and naturally smart) as well as look-wise, i’ve seen you generally have really nice tips and ideas, so i wonder how to make these ideas work without being offensive/out of place, thank you in advance!
Hey there! First of all, your question isn’t silly. It’s actually very important and is something a lot of writers tend to face when writing about countries and cultures different than their own.
From the sound of it, it seems like you’ve done your research about the city and why there’s many immigrants and that you’ve developed your characters to purposefully avoid stereotypes. If you want to be absolutely positive that you’ve avoided stereotypes within your characters however, I highly suggest checking out Writing With Colour’s Stereotypes and Tropes page, their blogs and resources Recs page, and checking out different articles. This way, if you find anything problematic with the way you’ve developed your characters, you can fix it now before you really start your webcomic/story.
Secondly, if you haven’t done it already, research the culture you’re coding your city as. Writing With Colour has some excellent resources on this that you can find on their blog in order to avoid possibly problematic worldbuilding. I would also like to add on that it’s not uncommon to have immigrants and people from different cultures to be living in one city/place/town.
As you said so yourself, the place where you live has different cultural influences and it’s like that for a good number of different countries in the real world. Just as an example, where I live the train station has signs in at least three different languages and so do a lot of the signs at the local food store. So there’s no real need to worry about whether or not having a lot of different cultures in one place is “unrealistic”.

Honestly, if there was an emergency only she knew about, she would probably just try to handle it herself, as to not endanger other people (it actually happens at one point in the story, she notices someone that’s probably an enemy and decides to take care of him herself, almost getting killed in the process). But if she did call out for people, it’d probably be in this order:

Of course that all depends on where in the story this is, since at first she’s completely against working with Alex and seems to respect Lawrence a lot more, but stuff changes...
