The bar is quiet by comparison. The music isn't too loud, the chatter is low, and the crack of billiard balls scattering on uneven pool tables can be heard every now and then. One hand holds two empty glasses, the other rests on that exposed strip of skin above her hip.

📋 : how organized is your muse?

Not very organized at all - Kevin's workspace is an untidy mess, but he still knows where everything is. It's what one might call 'organized chaos'. Everything in reach, not a single thing where it should be, yet he knows where to find whatever he needs. The only organized part of his space is in relation to his weapon/ammo, he's particular about that, for the sake of safety.

🎭 : how different are they with strangers versus people they trust?

It's like night and day! Kevin with strangers is more professional, he's cracking fewer jokes, making fewer sarcastic or snarky comments. He actually puts in an effort to appear as a member of the R.P.D. should. But with people he knows, he's a goofball, always trying to make a bad situation a little lighter.

🫀 : what emotion scares them the most?

Rage. He's seen people lose themselves in fury to such an extent they couldn't even feel pain. He doesn't know what he'd be capable of if he ever lost himself like that, and the thought scares him. It's one of the reasons he's always making smartass comments - it's a deterrent for anger, though much more than that, it's a defense mechanism. If he can keep smiling, keep laughing, in the face of something that should infuriate him? He's winning.

🪤 : what pattern do they keep falling back into?

Alcohol. He's tried to quit over a dozen times, but every time, right when he seems to be doing better, he's back at the bar. Most often it's J's Bar, as he likes the energy there. His alcohol consumption borders on the dangerous, and stands as the main reason he failed to join STARS. Post-Raccoon, he actually cleans up and stops drinking; being drunk when the outbreak hit was not a fun experience. But who knows how long it'll stick?

🪦 : what hill would they die on?

Raccoon City was engulfed in chaos ever since the outbreak. The streets were no longer safe anymore, unless one was practically armed to teeth, due to how overwhelming the numbers of the people were and sadly, there would be more. Gwen knew that and that knowledge wasn't helping in the slightest. Gwen thought, that she was already over it, done with this kind of life the moment she survived the incident in Arklay Mountains, but it seemed like life had a twisted sense of humor. Pulling her right back into the similar horror she was once forced to endure. How ironic, wasn't it? Gwen almost gave a bitter chuckle at the fact as her mind would briefly trace back to what happened in Spencer Mansion. Almost. Because she managed to hold back and keep a straight face, not wanting other to worry about her perhaps. The injection was swift and efficient, although Gwen knew it most likely wasn't the most pleasant sensation of course. Though she was used to pain ( maybe a bit too much at this point ), the sting of the syringe in her arm was something she very much remembered. It was a vivid memory, one she didn't like as it reminded her of what used to be ... Once the injection was over, Gwen's icy irises settled over Leon for a moment, watching him grimace in pain. It wasn't something she would blame him for. For a moment, her gaze softened as she took into his features. From the looks of it, he seemed to be a bit younger than her, maybe two or three years? Though the two have just met, Gwen could see his enthusiasm and eagerness to help others, to actually make a difference and ... she pitied him. Not because she herself was jaded, but because she knew how tough and cruel life sometimes might be. He still had a spark of hope in his eyes - a good thing. But equally saddening to watch.

Few moments would pass, silence lingering over the two as Gwen allowed her body to rest against the counter as soon as she got to her feet, arms folding over her chest, gaze fixed on the rookie.

❛ You sure you don't wanna take a moment longer? It usually takes more than few seconds for the painkiller to fully kick in, you know? ❜ Woman spoke up but there was no mockery or bitterness in her tone. No. She simply knew when someone was trying to play tough but still wasn't feeling fully okay.

          THE  AIR  WAS  DAMP  with  the  kind  of  humidity  that  only  really  ever  seemed  to  spawn  in  rainy  cities.  Not  like  the  refreshing  breath  of  fresh  air  of  the  country  side,  but  something  thicker,  heavier,  that  felt  like  it  would  coat  the  lungs  if  one  breathed  in  too  deeply.  Not  something  she  would  usually  notice  while  out  on  a  case  -  but  this  one  was  different.  Not  every  case  had  her  returning  to  the  scene  of  all  her  late  teenage  trauma,  the  death  of  her  mother.  It  was  all  Grace  could  do  to  take  in  as  many  deep  breaths  as  she  could,  to  focus  on  anything  else  besides  the  fact  she  was  going  back  to  that  place.

So  when  a  hand  started  waving  in  front  of  her  face  to  where  she  stared  down  an  alleyway  filled  with  trash  and  yellow  ribbon,  she  startled  a  little  and  stepped  back.  Clearly  she  had  been  zoned  out  enough  to  get  to  where  she  needed  to  go,  but  not  to  notice  a  police  officer  in  front  of  her.

“  S-Sorry,  w-what  was  that?  ”  she  asked,  before  registering  him  saying  the  zone  was  off  limits.

“  O-Oh  -  uh  …  Right  -  um  …  ”  she  stumbled  over  her  words  for  a  moment  before  she  remembered  her  badge  and  then  quickly  went  scrambling  for  it,  taking  it  out  of  her  bag  to  show  him.
