I told my nail technician I wanted my girls to be THIIIICCCCC & she delivered in all shapes & sizes (space permitting). As previously mentioned, my nails have been a longstanding extension of my self-expression. I love how empowered I feel when they are fresh and a new set is such a vibe. ✨Nails x Crystals= Synecdoches; parts of my whole. I’ve been invested in my nails so long that it’s become part of my identity. Nail drip has been an appendage since early grammar school due to my nail biting tendencies and my mother’s genius effort to help me curb the habit. When quarantine started, I went into a bit of a panic. What was my identity without fiery nails and coifed eyebrows?! Chillllddd, priorities slightly out of whack. Keeping your maintenance is important, but not if it causes you anxiety. Funny enough, as I was entering the dramatic (and unnecessary) ass worry zone, my understanding of crystal work increased. Alas, balance. And though my nails are still apart of my aesthetic dna, some things are just not that serious.
