The village covered in Bramble was Näcken's town.

After Tuva heals us. Olle has to go through this town that is covered in Bramble and has to avoid a giant flower. The village is deserted and there are no signs of trapped people or zombies. Its posible that this is Näcken's town. After Näcken made everyone dance to death, the bramble came and overtook the whole town. According to the post in steam about Näcken's backstory of Dimfrost Studios (Who you’ll meet: Näcken, The Dancing Fool) Näcken started to play the forbidden melodies in the town square:

and while you hide from the giant flower you can see the town square. Which is now the nest of the main flower:

Näcken has very VERY poor eyesight

Its as if he were almost blind. When we fight the mountain king, there is a scene that says something like "And the king could see clearly for the first time in years" and shows us how the king saw Olle, all blurry.

Näcken and the mountain king are both humans who were cursed by the bramble. They both have similar symptoms such as giant stature so it's possible that if the king is almost blind then Näcken's vision is also in the same state and that's why he failed to kill Olle the two times he had Olle in front of him.

Näcken from nordic mythology. Typically depicted as a beautiful man but sometimes more monstrous or troll-like, enchants people with his flute-playing to lure them to drown themselves

The Nordic näcken, näkki, nøkk were male water spirits who played enchanted songs on the violin, luring women and children to drown in lakes or streams. However, not all of these spirits were necessarily malevolent; many stories indicate at the very least that nøkker were entirely harmless to their audience and attracted not only women and children but men as well with their sweet songs
