But what if darling wasn't trusting of brian? What if the whole reason he had to break into their house, drug their dinner and go somno on them was because he just couldn't get close enough to them to fuck them in the normal way and when they wake up the next day they immediately accurately assume it was him so they're even more untrusting of him and even gets aggressive if he tries to get close to them. Meanwhile everyone else is oblivious and trying to get darling to warm up to him to no avail.

The only one who actually has a inch of common sense in the monster prom series is Joy. I’m not surprised nobody else noticed.
In the case where the darling DOESN’T trust him and accuses him immediately, it will go one of two ways.
A, him threatening them to keep them quiet, through blackmail or other means that he didn’t want to have to use.
B, him completely denying it and accusing the reader of setting this whole thing up to turn their friend group against him. His argument may be weak, but he’ll defend by saying that her accusation is weaker and making up reasons it couldn’t have been him on the spot.
The first option, on the bright side, would probably cause him to stop somno-fucking them. On the down side, he would probably do it while they were awake with the lingering threat over their head.
The second one will PROBABLY end in the same way as the first one, if he loses the argument. If he convinces them they’re being unreasonable, he continues his crimes.
