Love Alex but I definitely had higher expectations for the new quest, I was really expecting sso to delve into Alex's struggles (especially with what is I'm assuming to be ADHD) and create a compelling quest line that resonates with its audience. It's such a missed opportunity to give her some depth.
I was disappointed to find that it was just a line of errand quests to help Alex coordinate an event that we don't even learn the name of. I was still content with this premise but became frustrated at Alex's characterization. I kept waiting for the part where Alex gets annoyed with herself and then learns how to overcome her setbacks (the usual story beats) but it just kinda skipped that step and went straight to the solution (which isn't really a solution IMO but nevertheless)
I just think this quest had the chance to really stick in our brains. A fair chunk of us have grown into young adults now and trying to earn a living these days is HARD. Especially so for neurodivergent people.
PS: I kinda think it's a good thing that many of us are disappointed, it's a sign that sso has raised the bar significantly in these past couple years. This one was just a bit wack.
Lowkey still wish sso would add horns as mane decorations but I'm satisfied with this unicorn as well :D
This isn't sso but my bestie and I made a minecraft server and modded the hell out of it, and I felt compelled to make this artwork of us a few weeks ago. I made a long ass rant about my work life but I'm putting it in a separate post as to not ruin the vibe.
