Was this the face

     That launched a thousand ships?

Tis a tale some 4000 years old

Of a hundred thousand misled Greeks and

A single warlord’s lust for power and gold.

Up the neck of the Aegean they went,

Chasing the tales of two lovers, fools,

Fleeing to the great walled city of Troy,

While all the Greeks thought with their stools.

The rest of the story is past and well known,

They made a movie with Brad Pitt,

But what I wish and want to know

Is that the face that launched a thousand ships?

Happy with a little drunk;

Here I am, a lover,

Sitting in the clouds for cover,

Surveying the words of all who have ever loved,

To pick only the best for my love:

Oh this one’s lovely,

This one’s sweet,

This one’s old and strange and incomplete,

And this one, oh, my blood, it rushes

To certain places, causing blushes;

How funny this poet would appear,

Sifting through poems after a beer,

To find the best one from the start

Needed only a little alcohol to

     LEAP forth

          from my heart.

Want to fill my life up with stories,

experiences, memories, love, 

maybe build a few things,

and Sophia.

And never have they been filled with such sadness.
