I can’t believe (🎶 yes I can, yes I can!) that I’m in my fourth decade of life and am only now at a place where I have found solid info for making my period work with my body….
What I mean by that is information (through apps) that I can implement to support my goals for having a healthy mind and body. With as little physical or emotional pain as possible while my hormones are cliff diving into the Marianas Trench.
So of course, must blog.
If you're more physically active (@therunnymoonsover, @angstmongertina ) and want something that makes all kinds of research based recommendations for training around your cycle, wild.ai. Food, rest, intensity, sleep. I'm just starting this one whilst half marathon training. Hopefully will have more good to say about it soon (one thing I am trying.... I hardly ever ever eat before a run- welp! I am definitely fueling this morning).
If you're less active and want something beyond a calendar that guesstimates what day you start- MyFlo is helpful. In one day it made multiple food recommendations (a few categories, the ultimate choices within which were mine) based on late luteal phase and my mood improved AND I stopped eating everything in reach with a milligram of sugar. It also speaks to anning your life, working, when to socialize, when to stay in, and can even get your partner involved :) this one costs 1.99usd while Wild.ai is free. But maybe (probably) worth it.
(plus it's nice to be told not to restrict calories even while managing one's weight).
Just the fact that there are women out there helping other women gives me a lot of hope.
See y'all soon!
