Today was my first bicycle race. After a number of years standing on the precipice, today I took the leap. It was cold, wet, I have a number of stones in and around my face and I have very little clue to where I placed. But I loved every second of it. There were times I wanted to take the easy way out and throw in the towel, only to be spurred on to keep the wheel and drive forwards. There were times I felt like I was making an impact only to drop to the back of the bunch.
