So training at Kilimanjaro Safaris is over and I had my first real day yesterday!

It went fairly well for a first day I'd have to say, so I'm very glad for that. Unfortunately tomorrow and Monday are 7:15 am to 6 pm xP so, I'm not excited about those two ten hour days.

So far everyone is really nice, I like a lot of the people, which is great. The hours are a little insane, a complete 180 of my hours in Adventureland, and I can't decide if that's a good or a bad thing yet. I really am missing my old work are though. I felt very comfortable and at home there, something I'm struggling to find at Animal Kingdom. I know I've just barely finished training, but I still haven't really connected with anyone yet, though everyone is very friendly. I need to find my place there.

So excited to find out I'll be going to Kilimanjaro Safari at Animal Kingdom!!

I'm a little wary of the hours, since it'll be a complete 180 of my current schedule at Magic Kingdom, working til 3 in the morning most days, but I'm going to try and welcome the change!

Bucket List Item: Get a picture with Donald in his original costume

I've been blessed with the opportunity to extend my college program until the beginning of May, and into attractions no less! As excited as I was about this at first, I'm second guessing whether or not I really want it now. I'm starting to get home sick, and it's probably because I got to see my mom and aunt last week. I know I'm going to miss all the big holidays back home, and I think that's adding to everything a lot :/ 

On top of that, I really didn't think I wanted to stay in my same location for my extension, but now that it's no longer a possibility, I'm actually really sad about having to leave everyone. As much unnecessary drama as there can be, I really do love a lot of my coworkers, coordinators, and leaders. 

So today, despite starting off not so well, had some pretty great highlights.

Let me just say that probably the best part of my job is that I hang out in Agrabah sometimes. And today I got to goof around with Aladdin. 

I was standing at the register, not busy at all mind you, and Aladdin walks over to our bin of gems and just kind of starts looking around. Knowing how much of a troublemaker he is, I kind of looked over at him like "do you need something?" 

He holds his hands up and says "I didn't take anything! See!" and then proceeds to pull one of the little gems out of a hiding spot in his belt going, "you can't see it...because it's HIDDEN!" I laughed and shook my head. He walked over to our small stash of pins and asked what he could get with the one jewel, claiming "I earned this!" He proceeded to point at the Jasmine pin and ask if he could have it before walking off with it. Later he comes back, and puts back the pin, claiming "it wouldn't stay on his vest anyway."

Figuring that's the end of it, I continue going about my business, making sure the store looks clean and everything, until he comes back, AGAIN! (Note that I'm seriously fangirling at this point because come on. It's Aladdin. He's my FAVE. And he is hanging out with me at work. AWESOME.) First he tells me that apparently people are scared of him today, which I don't understand, but it's probably why he kept coming over. Then he holds up the gem he took earlier and looks at the rack of three baskets of gems before asking me "how many points?" After thinking for a moment, I told him it would be worth 50 points if he made it in. So he threw the gem.....aaaand totally missed. 

He went and grabbed another handful of them, designating point values to each of the three tiers on the rack, the top being the least, and the bottom being the most because it's the hardest. He hands me a gem and tells me I have to try this time. While he keeps trying, a guest asks me if he's "the real Aladdin". I was like OF COURSE HE'S THE REAL ALADDIN! Like, why wouldn't he be the real Aladdin... I told her he was playing hooky from his meet and greet at the moment. And then he reminded me I had to try and get my gem in the basket. Really wanting to impress him, I tried (and totally failed) to get my gem in the bottom basket. 

Aaaaaand that was the best part of my day. 

Rindi's Birthday :)

We all went to MK for Rindi's birthday. It was a pretty magical day that started with Festival of the Lion King at Animal Kingdom, and riding Everest. When we got to Magic Kingdom, the Move It Shake It parade was going on and the Mad Hatter wished her a Happy Birthday! We also ran into the Mayor of Main Street USA, and the Dapper Dans serenaded Rindi for her birthday as well!!
