Anyone you'd like the mysterious 3rd player character to be, no matter how unlikely? A lot of people wanted it to be Zelda.
I'll be honest I have been completely out of the loop on updates for this game.
Unpopular opinion I'm probably the only Zelda fan on on tumblr who doesn't get excited about the prospect of playable Princess Zelda because she's about the most uninteresting female character to me in the games. Tetra, yes please, but I don't really care a whole lot about Zelda.
With my zero knowledge of what the game is about or who is already in it beyond "save Zelda from a witch" I'm gonna say Ganondorf because the idea of Ganon helping Link save Zelda so he can kidnap her later is the most entertaining prospect I can imagine and Ganondorf is guaranteed to enhance anything he appears in.
