I can't believe i finally get to say this but I'm done with this degree. It took forever but I was able to overcome my self doubts (at least until I sat across from my professors during the exams) and actually understand concepts and learn and apply all these mathematical constructs I always believed I was simply too stupid or disadvantaged for. I still believe that studying English instead of maths as a second subject will always be a disadvantage, but now I know that it's not enough to stop me.
I can't wait to start documenting my master's journey (you'll actually see stuff from English courses on this blog then!) and see how I can apply what I've learned about myself and how I study best during an active semester.
Now I go into a well-deserved summer break. For the first time in ages I don't have an exam (or multiple ones) looming in front of me. I'm free.
I hope all of you get to rest soon as well. Wishing you luck!

I know I've been away for a while; it just became a little difficult to make the daily post and frankly, since I'm doing this for fun not money, I didn't stress about it.
Not a whole lot has happened since I stopped posting in June; I've been relatively busy with events and family get-togethers. One of my sisters-in-law (the youngest) is pregnant again, so her little boy will get to be a big brother; Hunny already knows the gender but he's not spoiling it for me he wants her to be able to tell me herself.
Got a new phone, which is also kind of what stopped me posting quite as much. I haven't fully ported over my old phone's pictures in particular. Speaking of pictures, I also let a whole bunch of stuff I bought pile up because I simple wasn't taking pictures of things when I got them. However, at the bottom of this post will be a bunch of those pictures; I'm cleaning up around here and finally got around to it.
I'm actually doing really well cleaning up the house. While Dad was away in Syracuse last month, I went to the Habitat for Humanity ReStore near me and got a much-needed filing cabinet, and Hunny found one of those full-length mirror armoires that you see on Amazon for like $150 but this was in the box new for only $75. So I've been going through my files (I think I finished that today) and then I have to move furniture so I can unpack a bunch more stuff and get that armoire set up and useful. [The ADHD in me: I need to clean the perfume shelf and move it so I can move the wardrobe and then get the armoire in but I need some like...step shelves first to help organize it so I'm a little stuck at the moment until I decide to order what I need on Amazon. I have checked out stores but it's impossible to find on a regular basis.]
I was only home today because I was taking a bereavement day; I have lost two (2) extended family members in the last like...week. One was a distant uncle, twice removed or something like that; yesterday my Dad told me his brother my Uncle unexpectedly passed and that hit me pretty hard. So I stayed home today, and I'm going to be taking off next month to travel for the memorial so I'm sure I'm taking more days than I plan on.
So anyway, here's a bunch of the stuff I got recently:
Hunny bought one of these blind boxes for his middle sister; they were BOGO half off so he got me one as well. I pulled a Tabby!
These are the books I got recently. I pulled the one about wrestling from Barns & Nobel when I went for my bday; the Cryptocats is from a small creator that was at the local convention in late June (I got a bunch of stuff from there that you'll see.) Sam Miserendino and Mike Odum make a series called Addicted Animals and we gave If You Give A Kitty A Cocktail to the middle sister last year. I adored this offering, but I was tempted to get If You Give A Bear A Bong because there was a matching ceramic coaster.
The other three are coloring books; I've never owned a Coco Wyo or a Jade Summer book and these are the ones I wanted out of the choices I found. The Lilac Punimals book is a second edition; I got the first edition last year but there's more to color and now there are activities! Like connect-the-dots! This book comes from another vendor at the con, and I forgot to take a picture of the Butterflilac (butterfly lilac - the pun in punimal) keychain I got to match. One day I will buy the peanut butter and jellyfish plush they always have on display.
Okay so the mimic clicker fidget is technically the only item from this convention stall in this picture; I picked up the mini dragons and mini knight duck from elsewhere. However, I bought both the mimic and a funny pun sheep for my sister; it was an angry sheep holding a sign that said "Baa Bye" and she loved it. I wanted more from this store; they even let you customize shelf & keyboard clicker toys but I have no money lol.
These are both display pieces; the one on the left is a gift from my mom while the one on the right I bought at the con.
Closeups of the pieces. My mom got me a very artistic rendering of my favorite poem - Emily Dickinson's "Hope is the thing with feathers" while the other one is a themed shadowbox based on the movie The Craft and since this movie was formative to my development I needed to have it.
Candy! Chocolate truffles in particular; another stall at the con (they always have good food places.) I bought six (6); two (2) were eaten by this point. The ones you don't see are the cookies & cream, and the Dubai chocolate; these are really good, they have a nice creamy middle and the chocolate is a good quality I really recommend them.
This was my gift from my sister, since I knew I couldn't afford it. We ended up running into each other at the con and I told her about the crocheted pieces I wanted & she made me show them to her since she also crochets. I had also wanted a strawberry/dragonfruit crocheted purse, but said sister claimed she could make me one of those herself. This on the other hand? With the hardware on the flap, and the feet/hard bottom? That she wasn't willing to make and so bought it for me. There were a couple options, including a green fellowship one with the leaf brooch, an Arwin one with her Evenstar pendant, and a Mt. Doom one I couldn't see clearly but I was absolutely drawn to this beauty. It's a mini-backpack, and the creator said it was entirely machine-washable too she used a particular yarn so that people could clean it.
This was a surprise! Hunny found it on sale (clearance even!) while we were at the mall at FYE. Now I would genuinely be a Barbie & doll collector if I had more money but one thing that's hard to resist is a doll of my favorite singer ever so I will take this gift and never take it out of the box my god. Photo does not do it justice!
Sale time! The three full-sizes you see here were 75% off so I paid like $5 a piece for a few of my all-time favorite scents. I went in there specifically looking for a good, non-winter strawberry scent. I have a strawberry snowflake scent, and I have cherry and cotton candy scents, but not a straight strawberry and I needed to rectify that. I generally only stop into B&BW when I need hand soap for the bathroom (Dad likes it better than drugstore hand soap, considering that's what he uses to wash his face bc he's an old man who won't use a cleanser.)
Speaking of blind boxes...
I found these a few months ago and told everyone I wanted them; Tokidoki x Sanrio/Hello Kitty and the theme is Butterfly Garden?? Sign me tf up! I still haven one I haven't opened, but these are the two (2) I have pulled already. I've never pulled a chaser before!
I have a rule with blind boxes: I won't buy anything where I look at the back and don't want every single one. If I want them all, I can never be disappointed with the pull. And I want ALL of these!
And finally, this is a bday gift from my mom; she knows I love claw clips, I've needed a red rose one (I'm going to get a fabric one eventually) and this is from a small business (see card.)
Not pictured is the stuff I picked up at Five Below, which was mostly skincare stuff. I got like seven (7) masks and a couple (2) of serums (a PDRN one and a snail mucin one.) Oh! And a Nickelodeon coloring book I forgot to take a pic of!
Stoked to announce that I passed my exam with flying colours. I was intimidated but it ended up being very manageable. I'll take a short break and then start on Projektive Geometrie.
A lot of maths in this one that I had to teach myself but it worked out well! This might be my last A of the remaining exams, but I'd be happy with that. On to Kinematik.
Also: Please take note of my wonderful budgie Tequila, enjoying his favourite spot.
As usual, it's taking me longer than anticipated. I've been quite productive but with work, therapy, sports, and me finally getting my eating habits under control, it's hard to find enough time to really get into the subject. I've yet to look at the complicated proofs. I think I'm doing great though, so I'm motivated to keep pushing through.
But also, how cool is it that I can reconstruct the true form (apart from scale) of rectangles from pictures? That I can draw the circumcircle of shapes in central projection? That I can construct the outline of a helicoid from any point of view in a front view? Actual magic

05.13.26 - I was reminded today about the company this dress is from lol. This is one of my thrift finds, but it's a LuLaRoe - and an extra small. In no world am I an extra small but remembering this was a Mormon MLM that was super focused on modesty and size it begins to make sense. I'm not gonna lie this is one of my favorite comfy dresses though.
Work - Well I was off again yesterday so it's mostly going through my inbox. I didn't leave work for myself because I wasn't real busy on Monday (tho I did have a weird mailing to get out)
Background Noise - I'm back in the office so I'm back to binging YT properly. I didn't do badly yesterday; I watched 23 videos total yesterday and should have set myself up well to get back to the 70-80min vids today
Study - Wednesday is for 'visual study' so I can focus on YT today.
Monday went better than expected for having had Friday off. I read the six (6) press releases that had come in between Thurs & Fri; a Wiki page related to the decisions I picked up; I finished the decisions for Azby Brokerage v. Allstate; I finally finished the Trump fraud complaint; I also finally finished the Avon v. S.C. Johnson decision regarding insect repellent; I got through a complaint regarding a scummy debt collector; and I read the Wiki page for a very important adoption decision.
Extras - Chores: It is Wednesday so I have to clean the catbox out again and vacuum the rugs.
Dinner: So, it's my late MIL's birthday and my FIL is taking us all out for dinner; I'll have to grab something on the way home for dad
Watching: I am supposed to be watching a couple (2) of episodes of Goseiger today, but depending on how dinner goes I don't know what I'll watch.
Relaxing: I am also supposed to be taking my mid-week everything shower and listening to some podcasts; again we'll see what I actually get around to? Maybe some random writing.
Work - As far as I know I am just updating some major cases in NYM. & handling any emails.
Background Noise - Last day in the office so last day of binging YT until next week. I watched 21 total videos yesterday, and it's brought me quite close to finishing the 60-70min videos. The goal is to finish those up today and move up.
Study - Friday is Wikipedia day; I'm hoping I get through a lot.
I did good yesterday. There were three (3) press releases from Wednesday I got through; five and a half (5.5) pages of Against Technology, taking me to a new chapter; five (5) chapters of Sky Island; and chapter 21 of Wuthering Heights.
Extras - Chores: Friday means cleaning the catbox and prepping it for the weekend; I have to do my shopping tomorrow because Hunny is taking the car in over the weekend as well.
Dinner: I am making some sort of salmon rice bowl; Hunny has jerk shrimp for his.
Watching: I am supposed to be finishing up Kamen Rider Amazons season 2 but I'm not sure I'm going to be able to; that might have to wait until the weekend because...
Relaxing: It is D&D night!
Ft the sign on the door of the lawyer's office by my cubicle
09.10.25 - The one thing I am going to miss about working from home is the lack of commute and therefore the ability to get a little more sleep. Hopefully today doesn't drag at least.
Work - Well at least all the important stuff got done; I didn't get any training done due to working on that motion (literally it lost my progress after two hours (I thought I saved; it didn't save right) and I had to start from square one at one point) so that's what I'm back to doing today.
Background Noise - Well, still in the office so...still watching YT I guess. I made it through 34 videos yesterday, but since I didn't have to juggle them with training I'm not expecting to make it that far today.
Study - Wednesday is 'visual study' day and...well I have over 300 videos on my Watch Later on YT; among those are legitimate documentaries and educational videos. If I do a few of those, I will absolutely fulfil this criteria.
I was way too busy yesterday to do more than read a (1) press release and a (1) wiki page I stumbled upon that wasn't too long. But I might be able to read some today while I juggle all my videos.
Extras - Chores: Wednesday is for cleaning out the catbox and vacuuming the rugs. Dinner: Chinese takeout is on the menu. I'll probably get beef & broccoli. Watching: three (3) more episodes of Kamen Rider Saber. It's so cute! I love the book/fairytale theme; remindes me of Toqger and the imagination gimmick. Relaxing: it is self-care night; I have my everything shower to do tonight.
