And here we are at last, with one last update to the translator I made way back in 20-freaking-16. I think after seven years without touching the thing it's time to admit that I will never finish transcribing chapter 4 lmao (or adding SVG support), but at least I can add support for one more chapter:

So, I’m putting together a new copy of my trolltag generator.  I lost my last version of it in a harddrive crash, which means I only have very old backups.  So ... the word list is a little short. Â
If anyone has words that would go well as the first or second word in a trolltag, I could use some crowd-sourcing on that -- especially if anyone has a list of trolltags revealed in friendsim, hiveswap, etc, or lists of tumblr or fan character’s trolltags.
Any replies to this post with word lists are greatly appreciated ^^;
I’m planning to make this into a .jar that can be run on any computer, and should be freely downloadable from my github.  I’ll put a link here when we get to that stage.
Kikiiii~! I've been throwing questions at people involving which fictional guy they'd rather pick for their bf~! For you...I say: Peter Parker or...Bakugo!
Bakugou or- PETER PARKER!!Â
If I haven’t already made it super obvious, I would choose Peter. Hands down. In a heartbeat. No need to even think about it. He’s the #1 Hero in my life, book- just everything. Honestly Bakugou doesn’t even come close (please don’t tell him that I said that) xD I love Peter Parker. I love how huge of a nerd he is and how strongly he adheres to his own code of morals. But even with all of the superpowers, he’s still vulnerable like a normal person and he knows it.Â
All of the jokes and quips are part of a coping mechanism for him, and as much as I love all of his dumb jokes and quips, I can’t help but admire him more for it? He gets scared. He wants to back down sometimes. But he never does.Â
And I just realized I went off on a long tangent on some of the things I love about Peter when I could’ve just answered this with one statement: So many aspects or Peter’s character make him dream boi material for me, I could die happy if I ever meet someone like him meanwhile Bakugou’s bad attitude would likely drive me crazy from the get-go because I can’t stand rude people who believe that they’re entitled in reality.Â
Maybe I took this too literally? xD Either way, if it’s a choice between Peter Parker or anyone else, I can say with absolute certainty that my choice would be Peter Parker. Even Trafalgar Law…Sorry ultimate animu bae xD
So I’m implementing a lot of things I haven’t gotten the chance for with previous drafts of this project. My eventual endgoal is I would like to be able to hand-customize genetics for two trolls from different universes with different biology headcanons, and then see some of the possibilities for what kind of grubs could be produced. Alternately, exploring what kind of weird mutants could pop up in a single-verse situation, and how difficult it would be for the jades to control the output and either encourage or discourage certain morphs.
So, skin. There's skin patterning which is invisible on most trolls, but will presumably effect bioluminescence patterns for rainbow drinkers, psychics, and seadwellers, and possibly coloration for ferals with fur, scale, carapace, or other coverings. I also have it noting whether the skin darkens with age, levels of sun resistance, and Grubscars.
..but grubscars leads me into the subject of pupation, which gets its own gene. Pupation 0 is grub form, pupation 1 is becoming toddler-shaped, and any additional pupations after that are optional headcannon space. I think I'm going to have arms/legs/tails/bipedalism express on pupation 1, and wings will express on pupation 2 or 3. I'm also including a space to decide when the middle limbs turn into grubscars(pupation 1), and when (if ever) the grub scars disappear, because having that occur at the wrong time or in the wrong order is hilarious to me.
But speaking of tails and wings, ferals sure have those sometimes, and there's a lot of space to blend between the most animalistic and the most humanoid -- so there's a chromosome for that now. Some epigenetics to decide how many of the genes actually express, whether stance is digitigrade or plantigrade, and a wide variety of cool wing types. So far I have butterfly/moth, bird, bat, dragonfly, gossamer fish fins, beetle, and tentacles. Debating whether to have a gene that controls whether wing coloration is based on aspect, caste, skin patterning, or other. Now I just need to add some things to control whether feral limbs are bare skin, scaled, furred, or other. Maybe that leads back into the skin gene for that? Probably.
Also seadweller genes are in.  There's one for the respiratory tract, and one for fins, ears, and nictating membranes. It can express as land dwellers, seadwellers, and variations I'd describe as Deep Sea, Beachsea, and Riverdwellers -- or as any mix between.

So, most of how the troll generator is based around a slurry of demographic data. Â IE, for every gene, I have a list that says "here's what this gene defaults to for This caste, here's the default for This caste, and here's a handful of special mutant archetypes that also show up!", and the trolls made thusfar are created by blending together their caste default, a random nearby caste default, and a mutant archetype.
IE, all of the randomly generated trolls are somewhat confined to the combinations that exist in the slurry population. Â IE, just because a combination CAN happen, doesn't mean it's equally likely to occur as every other combination.
However! Â That is not the only way to generate trolls! Â So I've added a method that *does* randomly staple letters together to create bizarre mutant combinations. Â Here's the first to come out of that mess.
We have Hkaohi Gyinae, or imaginaryHellion. Â Good start. Â They like geology, knickknacks, and conspiracies, wield chainKind, and their element is Dravite -- a kind of tourmaline gemstone. IH is cerulean (0, 70, 140), and googling "blue dravite" reveals some pretty stones. Â He is 7'2", and his build is... Â Please imagine Dr. Eggman with hips, and butt for days. Â Let's see how screwed up his pupations are.
Looks like he's due to have 7 pupations in his life. Â Two as a pure 6-limbed grub, one as a 4-limbed grub, and then pupation 4 is where wrigglerhood starts. Â He gets largish digitigrade paws, a stunted tail 3 inches long and 7 fingerwidths wide (imagine a fat little deer tail made of flesh with carapace and lizard-belly covering it, on Eggman), and normal claws. Â Over the remaining pupations, his skin / carapace toughens up noticeably.
He'll also develop webbed fingers and toes, fins on his arms, legs, and spine, spare eyelids (nictating membranes), no ears, and 4-tined cheek/earfins so small they're hard to see. Â He has full voluntary control over bioluminescent areas on his skin -- spots and freckles of cerulean glow, and a few solid patches that glow whiter. Â The patterning might be slightly visible even when not glowing. Â As far as organ systems go, there's a swim bladder, some small eye gills, partial neck gills, and fully-formed rib gills that are partially external / axolotl-like. Â He can breath salt and fresh water, but nothing in between, and has no problems breathing air.
This feral cerulean seadweller has horns with weak electrosensory abilities, that regulate his powers and body temperature. Â They are short ramlike horns, that curve backward, downward, and wiggle around some. Â His eyes are slightly hooded, the one on the right is a little too teal and has one round pupil, and the left one is slightly too blue and has two goat pupils. Â He has excellent darkvision, and can see the polarization of light, but is a little farsighted with some astigmatism.
He's as strong as an indigo and fast as an olive, and about as smart, charming, and psych-resistant as some of the more boorish annoying indigos too. Â He's also an incredibly passive player, and has ended up a Seer of Void.
He's a tough customer, but man mutations get wild.
Bright, strong psychic powers, fast and graceful. The color is more than a little muddy, so I might need to make a “cullability” stat to rate everyone on. Still, technically gold, maybe a trace of bronze in there. That’ll scrape by. The genegarble at the end says their eyes don’t glow when they aren’t using their powers -- they also might not be telekinetic, but they definitely have a strong psychic power of some kind. Stealth psychic, maybe they’ll manage to sneak by.
Connection means Breath is at 8, and everything else is pretty weak, aside from faith -- so being someone who knows/manipulates freedom and connections seems reasonable enough. They are 8′9″, a slightly flattened hourglass build, not strongly masculine or feminine.Â
In the middle, we have Dyomuo Bivinc, yourWyrm. Rg Gold hue 74, (105.140.0). {"clout":2,"grit":3,"alacrity":3,"hunch":3,"acumen":6,"resolve":3,"moxie":8,"psyche":1, "faith":-1,"order":7,"entropy":1,"connection":7,"self":-5,"opportunity":6, "aspect":"Blood","role":"Witch"}, "height":"8ft 1in", "buildgene":"543543","sex":"F","gender":"?","skingene":"PnnNyYaaaffSS"}}
This poor soul is hard into the other end of gold, literally One Degree away from being qualified as lime caste. She’s also the only one whose eyes glow all the time, and I’ve arbitrarily chosen blue for them. Acumen 6 and Moxie 8 though -- her psychic powers might not be all that impressive, but she is smart and daring and will use everything she does have to its best effect.
With connection 7 (Blood), Order 7 (Life), and Opportunity 6 (Light), she’s tied to social connections, overcoming limits, and chance / luck / knowledge, and definitely has the mental stats for some thinky classes. I’m also a bit amused that the pseudolime ended up a blood player. Good luck for her.
A pure, legitimate gold. Solid all around stats, but a psychic power worthy of a lime or Captor -- and with stealth eyes so it’s not as obvious that he has anything. Lucky lucky. He’s a good old classic dorito, average build. Heart/Self is an 8, Order/Life 7, and Faith/Rage 7 -- he knows himself, and he overcomes with his beliefs, determination, and personal power. Classic Knight of Heart.
These three were chosen specifically because of their trolltags.
