SATURN: âWHAT DO I REACH FOR?â
SATURN IN THE NATAL CHART: HOUSES 6 - 12 (part two)
disclaimer: The sign, aspects, progressions, saturn return, etc will all play a part in a full interpretation. Where Saturn lives is important and all, but how does it interact with others? What pesky planets are transiting and causing more strife?
Saturn takes any house it occupies and adds a layer of struggle with the hope at the end that your hard work will be rewarded with a greater understanding of whichever house it is in.
SATURN IN THE SIXTH HOUSE: âTO FIND HARMONYâ
Routine to some people might have them turning their heads, exasperated by the mundanity of it all. This is not typically the case for Saturn here. In fact, Saturn can feel quite at home in the 6th house. These people are your traditional hard workers, who donât mind the nitty gritty of hard work. While the 10th house is looking ahead, theyâre here getting things done.
They have a strong loyalty and discipline when it comes to work. So much so, they might often view others as lazy. It can be hard to empathize with individuals who donât value the same traits of hard work and dedication.
Saturn here doesnât need excitement everyday to wake up and get something done, when they see something that needs done they do it, no questions asked. Thereâs often a misconception that these people love to work, itâs not love, itâs dedication. These people often gravitate towards careers that involve long hours, and helping others or animals. Perfectionism and resentment will be the main struggles. Theyâll often feel like because theyâre always working, their personality often feels lost in translation. Health issues due to overworking can be seen here, on the job injuries, physical strain to the ligaments in the legs and back.
RETROGRADE/AFFLICTED: With the retrograde, energy turns inward, delaying 6th house gratification and creating self-doubt. There may be an imbalance between overworking and underworking, and a dislike of authority/boss figures that can cause problems. Afflicted, these individuals often struggle with traditional jobs, routines, health, and debt in a more apparent matter.
SATURN: "WHAT DO I REACH FOR?"
SATURN IN THE NATAL CHART: HOUSES 1-5
disclaimer: what sign Saturn is in and how it is aspected will show a lot of information on how it is expressed in the natal chart, with some signs able to handle the energy of Saturn more productively. Saturn is not an inherently negative planet, as it signifies a lot of potential growth and karma for those willing to work hard for Saturn's demands.
MINI SEGMENT:
SATURN RETROGRADE: While it is not uncommon to have this planet in retrograde, it still makes an impact. It often signifies delays in the house it is in. Navigating public settings or those demanding specific etiquette may induce a sense of awkwardness for those with Saturn retrograde, revealing a complex relationship with social norms. Additionally, they may encounter more frequent karmic instances, suggesting a deeper connection to the consequences of their actions and choices.
SATURN IN THE FIRST HOUSE: To Find Myself
Saturnian energy exerts a pronounced influence in the first house, shaping the individual's appearance and demeanor. From my vantage point, the first house serves as a canvas, absorbing and reflecting the essence of any planet within it. They may appear older than they are, and carry a thin figure that harbors a serious expression. Others might describe them as having a somewhat solemn or cold demeanor, reminiscent of the impact Pluto can have in the 1st house. This effect can be likened to the aging process of a fine wine, where Saturn individuals may mature with time but grapple with underlying self-confidence issues. The late bloomer indication doesn't only apply to looks it also applies to the expression itself with most "finding themselves" later in life. In general, they will struggle with wondering if they deserve things. To top it all off, a deep yearning for the innocence of childhood may resonate within, as Saturn in the first house prompts a lifelong quest for balance between maturity and the childlike spirit buried within.
Positive aspects can help them navigate the challenges presented by the first house more adeptly. Nevertheless, a persistent struggle with feelings of deservingness may linger, casting a shadow on their sense of self-esteem.
RETROGRADE 1ST: Much like the expression of a direct Saturn the individual comes across as somber or expressionless, people with the retrograde here often heavily struggle with Saturn's demands, and the restrictions can be easily felt. The individual may struggle with extreme lethargy and motivation, and if negatively aspected they may easily break bones or experience dental issues. The demands of Saturn are especially burdensome to a rx Saturn as they can struggle with being shy or relying on other's often misconceptions of them to define them.
SATURN IN THE SECOND HOUSE: To Find My Worth
These individuals may have a deep fear of running out of things and emptiness. While the first house is all about self-expression, the second house is more about self-worth. It's no surprise that a positively aspected Saturn here could point to an individual who could be financially well-off. They may have a lot of projects to try to make money. While this position can be materialistic it is not in the way you'd expect. They're often trying to find self-worth through material items and possessions as each item has a "goal." Values for these individuals can be strict and unchangeable. They can have a strong fixation on money and will experience financial downturns very hard as this will reflect onto the self. When negatively aspected, debt could be a problem.
RETROGRADE 2ND: In the presence of a retrograde Saturn in the 2nd house, there is a heightened focus on financial matters and material possessions, with a potential inclination to prioritize them above other considerations. There could be a delay in financial stability and it may take them longer to pull themselves "up by the bootstraps" and struggle with being overly cautious when opportunities present themselves.
SATURN IN THE THIRD HOUSE: To Find My Words
Individuals with Saturn in the 3rd house often display a remarkable early aptitude for articulate and intelligent expression, or conversely, may choose a more reserved/silent approach to communication. Preferring to weigh their words carefully, they are not prone to impulsive statements, instead opting for a thoughtful and methodical approach to verbal expression. This is not a position known for public speaking, they have a quiet intelligence and excel in presentations and activities that afford them the space to think freely, unencumbered by the pressure of an audience. They are likely not known for being neighborly and may struggle with meeting strangers as they are not good at forced conversation or change. Auditory dyslexia/dyslexia is not uncommon here, either. They could also feel a strong sense of responsibility or burden regarding siblings if they have them.
RETROGRADE 3RD: Saturn being retrograde here in the third house points to an individual who struggles much more with communication than the direct Saturn. They may find themselves dealing with miscommunication on a daily basis. Likely to feel undervalued by peers, self-isolation is an indicator. The person may have to work harder than others to communicate or learn something effectively. They may struggle to relate to others especially when younger and feel self-conscious when speaking.
moon through the houses: synastry
part 2/2
MOON IN THE 9TH HOUSE:
This can be a quite favorable position for Moon if aspects allow. Sure, itâs not the most romantic house, but itâs easy to build love in a general sense. The Moon person may easily admire the House persons beliefs whether that be religious, philosophical or societal. It can be easy relate to the House person and it may feel like they could never grow tired of them as their curiosity is piqued. This feels mutual as the House persons beliefs could literally be âexpandedâ by the Moon person. It can be quite spiritual in a way that is different than the 12th house. Where the 12th adds an enchanting fog, the 9th house illuminates. The Moon person may feel more carefree or spontaneous around the 9th House person which makes it easy for the 9th house person to relax. They may revel in traveling with each other and the fact they have a side-kick. Depending on the sign at play here will shed light on these activities. A Scorpio 9th house could be the type of couple who venture into abandoned carnivals or underground stations. This is the couple you see at the beginning of the horror film embarking on a journey into an old psych ward.
Itâs possible the two will have a long distance relationship at some point. Whether that be meeting online or due to other circumstances.
If negatively aspected, this could show that instead of the influence of âexpandingâ beliefs it can pull them inward. The Moon person may not feel completely understood by the House person on 9th house traditional values. They could clash a lot when trying to make plans or misunderstand each other on fundamental things. Both may feel misunderstood in some way. In the sign of Virgo it could be problems with things pertaining to modesty, productivity or detail. Maybe the two of them get partnered to do a presentation and have very different ideas on how it gets done.
MOON IN THE 10TH HOUSE:
Moon in this house can be pretty earthy and self-esteem boosting if aspects allow, of course. The Moon person could be attracted to the image, ambitions, or social standing of the House person. Itâs likely they represent what feels most familiar for them emotionally in those matters. The Moon person could feel more confident around the 10th house person and love talking to them about work related things. The two could make incredible business partners and tactfully put the necessary effort in to achieve those goals. The Moon personâs insecurities surrounding ambitions or image can be smoothed over by the House person, and make them think they can accomplish anything if they put the hard work into it. They may view their emotions in a more logical and rational sense when around the House person. At its best the two could climb the ladder together and coin the expression âtwo minds are better than oneâ and âbusiness and pleasureâ
The Moon person in some way views the House person to have some type of authority. That could be from how the House person carries themselves, social class, or in a more literal sense they could be the Moon personâs boss.
In a negative manifestation, we see a couple who could be going in two entirely separate ways. The Moon person may not feel encouraged to go after what they want especially if Moon is negatively aspecting Pluto/Saturn. If the Moon person has a bad relationship with the father figure in their life it could feel like the House person mirrors that. If it negatively aspects Neptune it could point to one of the parties feeling scammed or taken advantage of. This relationship in a way has the potential to be pretty karmic. On the more extreme side of things they could alter the Moon persons public image, or make them give up on their career dreams. The House person may also feel like theyâve had to give something up pertaining to the sign + traditional 10th house meaning. Maybe they get a great job offer but the Moon person convinces them itâs better to stay where they are. This could be a âtrophy wifeâ position and lacks emotional depth as theyâre more concerned with the amount of power or looks the partner has which stunts emotional bonding.
MOON IN THE 11TH HOUSE:
âFrom friends to loversâ had to be said about a positive 11th house relationship. Theyâre likely to hit it off quickly and hangout with similar people. At the base of this relationship is a great friendship which is a very important aspect of a successful relationship. The Moon person may feel relaxed to express themselves around the House person. They could introduce them to new friends or ideas and get them out of their comfort zone. If romantic attraction is present itâs likely the Moon person will feel it first. The 11th house person fits their ideal in some way. This can be a slow burn romance where it takes time before it reaches fruition. Neither will have to pretend to be anyone but themselves which can feel gratifying. They wonât feel like they have to impress anyone with a grandiose personality, they can simply be.
The negative manifestation is either that the relationship is one-sided (romantically)or grows too complacent. Since this is a fixed house some level of stubbornness will have to be accounted for. But even then, the negative manifestation isnât as bad because at its core the two still have a bond. If attraction exists there may be a deep fear of putting romance into the friendship incase the relationship doesnât pan out. The Moon could have a hard time emotionally letting go as they feel theyâve lost a partner and a friend.
MOON IN THE 12TH HOUSE:
This is one of those positions that can go either suspiciously well or nauseatingly bad depending on aspects. On one hand the dreamy, mystic quality cant be denied. On the other hand, you may feel like youâll never truly know the other person. If the 11th house is âfriends to loversâ the 12th is âenemies to lovers.â If itâs a positive manifestation itâs likely to feel spiritual and meant to be. The two may be eerily in tune with each other and be able to read the other person with a look alone, especially if Moon conjuncts the ascendant. The subconscious will be a strong force in the relationship and a lot of the time itâll be hard to explain to others simply because a lot of what happens between the two will be hard for them to understand themselves.
The Moon person could have a keen eye into the House persons problems and be the support theyâve always wanted. As usual when weâre speaking of the 12th house, it can be very healing and filled with whimsy. The twos familiarity with each other will feel otherworldly. Itâs not the comfortability you get with the 4th house, it feels much more profound and at times unnatural.
The negative manifestation is a bit easier to pin point. A lot of the issues are built off a fundamental lack of trust in each other. The Moon person may feel as though the House person is hiding something. The House person may feel like a therapist at times juggling the emotions of the Moon. Both may view the other as a secret theyâre this close to cracking. I have always envisioned this house as a beautiful ocean with a deep fog cast above it. Quite like the ocean, it can feel like youâll never truly find out whatâs all floating around in there. In the sign of Libra/Pisces this can intensify this effect due to the roundabout nature the Moon person will have with directly confronting problems. They may deeply want clarity but fear confrontation and enjoy the veil of happiness theyâve created. Another way this acts out is that the relationship in itself is a secret. Whether that be due to work reasons, family reasons, or one of the parties already being in a relationship. Like the 8th house, they may dream about each other often even if it doesnât work out. The dreams can happen at random times, no matter how many years have passed, due to the ingrained nature the other has woven into their subconscious. This could also be an off and on relationship where both are inexplicably drawn to each other but part due to trust issues only to keep repeating the cycle as if fate demands it.
disclaimer: as always, please review the entire synastry chart as a whole. donât take any one position or aspect as the nail in the coffin. this is based on my opinions and observations, and a few handy dandy astrology books.
ASTRO OBSERVATIONS
part 1/of god knows how many
my opinions and observations
- people with a 12th house stellium can be notorious homebodies, maybe even struggle with agoraphobia.
- nobody holds a grudge like a scorpio moon these people are deeply caring and if you slight them đȘ theyâre not easy to forget about it
-cancer moons are not as emotional as theyâre made out to be, especially if coupled with air/earth prominence in the chart. theyâre quite sensitive to being hurt by others, but not necessarily emotional.
- đŒplacements would be fire/water dom in the chart. most emotional people iâve met seem to have a mix of cancer and fire(usually leo/aries) strongly in the chart
- gemini placements talk a lot with their hands, if youâre curious if someone has gemini in the chart and theyâre not talking your ear off, see how often they use their hands to communicate.
-gemini mercury also makes someone great with ASL. These people are quick and pick up on learning the signs easily. usually good with directions too
- aquarius venus/sign dominance chart people are not flighty, they can be extremely loyal if developed and to the right person. I have noticed that these people have very high morals and can be rigid in the âidealâ partner, dare i say on par with a virgo venus, but can have a low tolerance for putting up with things they deem unattractive/not for them. this venus will DROP you like an old egg salad sandwich if they feel disrespected, if undeveloped theyâll leave over minor slights and hurts.
-uranus in the 1st really is a weirdo placement. not in bad way, theyâre truly one of a kind. my best friend is a cap rising with uranus in the first and she is a bad bitch truly, definitely not afraid of shock value and doesnât care what anyone thinks.
-undeveloped scorpio venus really can be scary, especially if coupled with a scorpio mars(also mars square/opposite pluto can be guilty of this as well) a lot of my family members have this placement and they will not let their significant others go at any cost, even resorting to methods of restriction/control and at worst cases violence. once theyâve âpicked a mateâ thatâs that and itâs almost impossible for them to move on, and if they do âmove onâ they hold a grudge. love can feel extremely deep and uncontrollable to them, and at the deepest level of their heart, they want to hide how scary it is for them.
-1st house stellium people have a rapid cycle for changing their looks. real chameleons look wise. iâve noticed most dye their hair a lot, and may have quite a few different looks. the face over the years can change a lot, changeable mannerisms and an energy you cant quite âplaceâ no matter how comfortable you are with them.
-Mercury (r) people are underrated. they have a wit unlike any other, theyâre also incredibly good at puns and have a sarcastic demeanor. kings and queens of making people say âoh i hadnât thought of it that wayâ and âzingersâ
-people who can be described as the âlife of the partyâ typically have an 11th or 5th house stellium
-saturn in the 8th house may really fear the depth of sex. may either wait a long time to lose their virginity or struggle with ED (due to nerves) truly âcasualâ sex may be hard for them
-gemini/cancer rising really DOES look youthful for a dumb amount of time. even with age they have a childlike look to them
-undeveloped leo mercury can be liars in the way of âprotectingâ others from the truth. they can also twist stories to try to make themselves look better.
-taurus sun/mars are good with building things. woodworking, pottery, welding, cars, and have quite a bit of endurance to stay and finish tasks (if they donât have adhd lmfao)
-libra placements are FLIRTY and itâs not said enough. either intentionally or unintentionally. if someone flirts with them theyâre usually too nice to outright reject someone and will go along with it
-libra sun/moon men want approval more than anyone else. definitely not afraid to kiss ass in order to be liked, especially true if theyâre mutable dominant (fixed and cardinal will still have a strong need for approval but theyâre also quite prideful to off set it)
