Alec is a one person only type. he’s not about one night stands. I don’t think he would ever come out if he didn’t fall for Magnus. the shadow world and shadowhunters in particular are homophobic. Maryse and Robert aren’t supporting and I’m sure they entertain Alec not coming out. Alec needed the strength to choose himself and live a life he wanted, not the life others wanted for him. he’s so consumed by the love he has for Magnus and the love Magnus has for him. he’s really a I’m so down for him, so obsessed with him, I only want him type of man. he wants marriage for the right person. Alec still wants to rise in the clave but he’s not going to keep “old traditions” he’s making laws, and changing the shadow world
