A Formulary of Condition Oils
Banishing Oil: Grind cinnamon, black pepper, cayenne pepper, salt, and sulfur powder together. Add roughly one tablespoon of the mixture to an ounce of castor oil and shake.
Command and Compel Oil: Grind one teaspoon of powdered sweet flag (also known as calamus) with one teaspoon powdered licorice root. Add the powder to an ounce of castor oil and blend.
Crown of Success Oil: Blend essential oils of bay, frankincense, sandalwood, and vetiver into a jojoba oil base.
Fiery Wall of Protection Oil: Add one teaspoon of Dragon's Blood incense and one teaspoon of sea salt to one ounce of castor oil. Add five drops each of the essential oils of frankincense and myrrh. Shake bottle vigorously to blend.
Van Van Oil: The most beloved oil of all, Van Van ideally is blended from five Asian wild grasses: citronella, gingergrass, lemongrass, palmarosa, and vetiver. Include as many of these grasses and you can to make your formula more powerful, but using lemongrass alone is adequate. Use either dried botanical powders of essential oils or a combination. Once the grasses are blended, mix them into a combination of castor and jojoba oil. Enhance the power of Van Van by adding a lodestone to the bottle, thus transforming it into Lucky Lodestone Oil.
Florida Water: This isn't an oil, it's a cologne, an agent of purification and a frequent component of magical spells.
16 ounces of distilled water
2 ounces of vodka or Everclear*
6 drops of essential oil of bergamot
6 drops of essential oil of lavendar
2 drops of essential oil of clove bud
*Florida Water is for external use only, definitely not for consumption. Vodka or Everclear are recommended as ingredients only because these alcohols are comparatively scent free and thus will not interfere with the aromas of the accompanying essential oils.
