There is no doubt, mobile technology is at the heart of worldwide innovation. Living #MWC15 in first person has been very exciting. Mobile World Congress gets together, in one place in a few hectic days, the future of Telecommunications.
The mobile communications revolution is driving the world´s major technology breakthroughs. Although, this edition smartphones have been less protagonists, as wearables, connected homes and cars have been the stars. Some of the Future Insights we got:
* Go wide mobile, means so much more than phones. The potential of IoT innovations is undeniable. The aim is to create relevant user experiences, where long-lasting connected devices that work seamlessly across networks.
* Smart wearables, tech becomes part of our daily life, in an even closer relationship with people, as they are designed to be worn. Both LG and Huawei announced smartwatches, rather than smartphones, at their press conferences. And of course, remarkable Apple´s presentation (out of MWC) of their Smart Watch, as it seems to belong to the luxury industry. Regarding with work environments, Virgin Atlantic begins a trial of Sony wearable technology within its engineering department for maintenance and repairs.
* Boost with biometrics, that uses tailored security solutions to help create an ultra-personal relationship between the consumer and their device.
* Connectivity trends, there was some buzz around "pre" 5G technology, although it is years away from standardization. But real advances come in wireless technologies - such as Bluetooth Smart and LongTerm Evolution (LTE) - are enabling mobile devices to connect faster and stay linked for longer. And of course, WiFi remains at the center of the Future of Connectivity. It’s the wireless Internet of everyone. Tens of millions of WiFi routers across the world owned by individuals, businesses, companies big & small.
