Diana wouldn’t give up her position in the League for anything. She’s become a backbone to her colleagues and friends and while it’s something she hadn’t seen herself doing in the past, she wouldn’t give it up for the world. After losing Steve and getting up close and personal to how heinous mankind can be, the Amazon was rendered hopeless. Any shred of belief she had left in the pure goodness that resided in the hearts of man was long gone, and lead her to believe that her mother was right to ask her to stay back from her mission. Though over time she came into contact with people who, through their crusades for justice and loyalty to their people, helped Diana realize that men were still good, and that this fight will always be one worth fighting. Mera, a woman whose attitude is just as fiery as her hair, had easily become one of the people Diana considered a close colleague, and an even closer friend. The other’s words allows her shoulders to fall in almost a relieved sigh, as though a fraction of the weight she bore atop them was lifted. “Don’t tell me— Have no fear, the Queen of Atlantis is here?” She teases playfully as her grip settles around the warm mug of tea she poured for herself. “As much as I’d like to not worry, it seems ingrained in my psyche by now.” Her words are interrupted by a bit of laughter before Diana’s chin is resting in her hands. “Speaking of Atlantis... how are things with my favorite ruler?”
