1. Talk about the first time you and your f/o met. How was it like?

It wasn’t anything special, Muse came to Mic for help with their quirk therapy so their first meeting was purely professional. Really it was just an evaluation of Muse’s abilities so that Mic could help them.

(I just realized that all my ships have gone from professional relationship to lovers. Weird.)

2. How long did it take for you and your f/o to gain feelings for each other? Was it fast or did the feelings grow slowly? Who was the first to get romantic feelings?

Muse fell for him about 3 months after they met, and Hizashi fell slightly after that. Their feelings turned romantic pretty quickly after that.

3. Did it start off as a small crush for you, or did you quickly fall head over heels? How about vice versa?

It started as a small crush for Muse, but Hizashi fell pretty fast after his initial crush to the point that it was hardly distinguishable which was which.

4. Was there a special moment between you guys that got you to realize you had feelings for them? Was it a deep conversation, spending more quality time with them or something else? How about vice versa?

After Hizashi made Muse laugh for the first time (and I mean like, this was falling on the ground, can’t breathe, ‘oh my god that was so lame but so cute’ type laughing) Muse looked back at the time they spent together and realized that they really liked him.

5.  When you first started crushing on them, what qualities of theirs stood out to you? Was it their smile? Their eyes? Their way with words? Anything else? How about vice versa? (It can be any trait. Personality, appearance, etc.)

Muse always though he was sort of cute before they fell for him but they pretty much ignored it until he made them laugh. Muse loves corny jokes and puns and his sense of humor pretty much broke through the barrier that Muse usually has up and it was all just downhill from there.

Vice versa Hizashi noticed that underneath Muse’s quiet and serious personality that they’re silly and excitable and that their personalities mesh really well together!

13. Are either of you good at hiding you feelings, or are you very obvious about them?

Muse tried to hide them for a while, but became more and more obvious as they realized that Hizashi is a more obvious person. That being said, Hizashi is a very emotionally intelligent person and knew pretty much instantly that Muse was crushing on him. Hizashi is usually the type to come right out and say how he feels, but he knew that Muse is still a bit slower to confront their own feelings so he toned down his usual behavior to make them feel more comfortable.

15. Does anyone else know about your feelings for your f/o? Did they find out on their own, or did you go to them? How about vice versa? Does anyone else know about your f/o’s feelings for you?

Thirteen knew about Muse’s feelings because they brought it up to her mostly as a joke but after a bit of prying she realized that their feelings were legitimate.

Muse is really sensitive to light so most of the time their eyes are undilated but when they see something that interests them they just go

Muse makes bat noises. Sometimes its cute. Sometimes its not.

They also twitch their ears when they’re happy

Their favorite food is cantaloupe and their favorite drink is iced tea.

 Bc they go on patrol at night and teach during the day, if they’re not at either of those two places, chances are they’re at home sleepin

Muse haaaates the quirk use law. In America public quirk use isn’t banned, but it is in Japan, which means that even though they could fly to work in like 10 minutes, they have to take a crowded train instead

Muse loves berets but can’t wear them bc of their ears. They are very salty about this

Even though Muse’s quirk is called Megabat, they share more similarities to microbats. And even though they share traits with multiple different bat species they’re mostly based off of spotted bats

🎨 How would you describe your ship aesthetic? (Include a moodboard if you like!)

well I’d imagine if you mash the aesthetics of a space-themed bat and a punk rocker DJ you’d get a cool sort of rave theme so!

🧸 Do you have any items irl that remind you of your FO(s)?

Not many as of currently since Mic hasn’t even been my f/o for a week yet but I do have a black leather jacket that I will 100% be wearing and pretending it’s his when it gets cooler out. Oh and also my black jeans with a gold stripe down the legs!

I’d kill for a plush of him big enough to cuddle though... those little chibi anime plushies aren’t cuttin it for me, but I may still get one anyway since that seems to be my best option

🍯 Do you and your FO (s) use pet names for each other?

Archangels: Who named your kid? What does their name mean, if it has a meaning?

Kotone’s name means harp, flute, or sound! Muse chose it both because of its Japanese meaning but also because how it sounds similarly to “tone” in English. It’s a unisex name, but it’s common for girls, which made Muse doubt choosing it a bit, but Hizashi liked it too much to change it. Muse and Hizashi have raised him to not see gender so rigidly, but he still went through a few years as a kid/young teen where he hated his name and went by “Ko,” due to outside influences before he really embraced the idea that he doesn’t have to conform to gender roles.

Powers: Is your kid very social or very shy? Do they have any familial or platonic f/os of yours they like to visit?

He’s super extroverted just like his dad! He loves being around people, but he has trouble understanding social cues and is kind of impulsive, so in most of his friend groups he ends up asserting himself as the leader so that no one questions him, and occasionally will even use his quirk to scare other kids into following him. He doesn’t mean to be rude but he’s just not sure how else to interact with people and after he realizes he made someone upset he gets really anxious and sometimes starts crying or has a meltdown/shutdown.

Muse and Hizashi had to work with him a lot when he was young to learn how to be nicer and establish better friendships, and even though he still has a hard time reading the mood of a place, he’s a lot friendlier.

Honestly a good character to look at to understand his personality is Inasa (who actually becomes his internship mentor in high school, since Hizashi remembered meeting him at the remedial exam course and recognized that he had a similar personality to Inasa). They get along really well and Kotone even based his hero costume off of his.

While I don’t have any other MHA f/os, because Kotone is the kid of two UA teachers, he knows all of the other UA teachers (some of which are previous 1-A/1-B students like Bakugo, Ururaka, Monama, and Shinsou) and sometimes Aizawa (and his gf, @starlight-avenue) babysit him, and Eri is like a big sister to him! Midoriya isn’t a UA teacher, but he comes to visit the school often and knows Kotone too!

I also couldn’t find anywhere else to fit this in, but @uncringed is an uncle figure for him as well!

Seraphim: How do you, your F/O, and your kids spend time together? Do you have any rituals you have, like movie night or board game night?

If there’s one thing everyone in the Yamada family can agree they enjoy it’s music, tv, and radio. They love to go out to movies and concerts or do karaoke and when watching tv there’s no such thing as being quiet and just watching the show. They’re always commenting their thoughts and theories and narrations.

They also all train together! Muse retired from being a hero after having Kotone (though they still have a license so they can help in emergencies) still, Muse like to keep fit, and because Kotone wanted to become a hero both Muse and Hizashi coach him so that he learns to master his Quirk and all the ins and outs of being a hero early so that he can succeed at UA. Hizashi works with him on his voice and combat, while Muse helps him with hearing, echolocation, and rescues.

2. Does your insert have a very strong relationship with a f/o, maybe more than one? Tell us a little about the dynamic they have! This can be a bond that’s romantic, familial, or platonic, anything - even an enemy would count as a strong relationship!

Of course! Muse has a strong relationship with Hizashi. I honestly don’t know what more to say than that, I mean they have a romantic relationship and have a close bond because they bring out aspects of each other that they wish they had more of and because of similar interests and compatible quirks.

4. Does your insert have a backstory? Tell us about it! How does their backstory, if any, define who they are? How does it reflect their relationships now? Their hopes and dreams?

7. What kind of clothing style do they like? What would they never be caught dead wearing? What’s likely in their closet right now?

Well, of course since Muse is my s/i they love turtlenecks and berets, but because of their wings, ears, and height, their clothing options are limited, or at least, extremely tedious to get custom tailored. So on a casual day, Muse wears overalls with arm holes big enough to fit their wings and custom tailored shirts. Because their clothing selection is limited, they have a large collection of ties that they like to wear to express themselves. In the winter they get cold easily, so they wear big ponchos and beanies over their ears to keep warm because they lose heat from those areas easily.

They also really, really love suits.

The one thing Muse hates is revealing clothing. Doesn’t matter if they’re in 100 degree weather, you’ll never catch Muse in shorts and/or a tank top

11. How easy is it to make your insert angry? Sad? How easy is it to twist their emotions into negative things? By contrast, how easy are they to cheer up? What can brighten a bad day?

Muse is a bit unpredictable with anger. They’re usually pretty chill but as a kid they had anger issues and they lessened as they got older, but Muse is still prone to getting defensive if someone hits a nerve, and not even Muse knows what all those nerves are, so they’ll just suddenly snap at someone and then realize that what they were mad about was actually really petty and then they immediately apologize. They mostly struggled with that in their teens, but it still happens on occasion.

It’s... pretty easy to twist their emotions. Muse worries a lot, so if anyone else validates their fears it’s just downhill from there. Muse worries a lot about Hizashi’s wellbeing, how they stack up to the rest of UA’s teachers, what their future’s gonna be like, if there even is a future for them, and about what their friends, family, and sidekick back in the US think about them suddenly moving to Japan. Somewhat standard stuff for a hero to worry about I guess...

Muse is the sort of person who wallows in their sorrow, so if someone tries to cheer them up in a way they aren’t receptive too they’ll just get angrier, but if someone can distract Muse from their misery for even a second it’ll be like nothing ever happened! And Hizashi is the king of distractions of course! It can be as simple as Hizashi asking “hey what do you think about that plot hole in that show we watched,” and Muse will be ranting away on the new topic. Also, they forget to eat when they’re miserable, so bringing some food goes a long way.

13. What are your insert’s goals? Their hopes and dreams for the past/future/present! Do they intend to achieve no matter what? Could anything stop them, big or small?

Muse wants to continue to open up and become a better, happier version of themselves, as a hero, a teacher and person. Their injury and resulting training made them realize that they can do a lot more than they originally thought, and they want to continue to grow and discover new things about themselves and feel like they deserve their title of being a pro hero/teacher alongside some of the best in the world.

They also want to marry and start a family with Hizashi someday. They’re sure its too early in their relationship to be thinking about that, but its still something they hope for eventually, and they’re motivated to be the best hero they can be so that the world is a wonderful place for their future child.

Cappuccino: what was your first date like? Whose idea was it? Did it go well?

It was a pretty simple date, just went out for coffee. Technically it was Thirteen’s idea after she found out that Muse liked him and Muse was the one to ask him out. It went pretty well, nothing out of the ordinary or special

Jasmine tea: how did you meet? What were your first impressions of each other? Did your view of them change over time?

After Muse lost the ability to use one of their Quirks due to an injury, Muse had to go to speech therapy and vocal training, and while that helped them relearn how to speak, that didn’t really help with regaining the Quirk itself, and so their agency found that Mic had a similar Quirk and asked him to retrain Muse.

Muse thought he was kind of obnoxious at first, and Mic just thought Muse was kinda cool but not much else, but after hanging around each other they began to take on each other’s personalities more and more and bonded over their similar Quirks and hobbies.

Rose lemonade: what is your f/o(s)’s favorite flower? What is yours? Do you ever get each other flowers, or do you prefer other gifts?

Muse likes cactus flowers, Mic likes bat flowers!! They get each other flowers on occasion, but they aren’t really gift giving people that much unless its like, oh I remembered you said you liked that shirt in the store so I got it for you!

Hazelnut hot chocolate: what do you do with your f/o(s) that’s the most comforting to you? How do they pick you up when you’re feeling down?

Just hanging out and talking!! Both Muse and Mic love to talk a lot obviously, so its really comforting just to be able to talk about anything with each other. Doesn’t matter if they’re taking a walk or cuddling or on their podcast/radio shows or anything else, they just wanna talk!!

Chocolate chip frappe: what is the sweetest thing your f/o(s) has ever done for you? What is the sweetest thing you’ve ever done for them?

Muse thinks that Mic agreeing to train them is the sweetest thing Mic has done. Sure they weren’t romantically interested in each other until later, but without it Muse wouldn’t have met him, and they wouldn’t have at least partially regained their Quirk and their confidence, even if Muse won’t ever be able to use it again.

Mic loves how supportive Muse is. They’re always checking up on him because they know how busy his schedule is and how stressful being both a hero and a teacher is. Muse doesn’t care what anyone else thinks about them being together and just wants him to be happy.

Mocha: what is your favorite kind of date with your f/o(s)?

Training date!! Even after Muse stopped training directly under him, they still have to keep their skills up of course, so the two have sparring matches, and even though their fights can get really rough, they love the adrenaline and its clear that they’re still looking out for each other. Their favorite part of their dates are seeing who can yell sweet things at each other the loudest or longest or at a particular pitch. (Mic specializes in louder, longer, and deeper, but Muse specializes in having more range, especially higher pitches)

Chamomile tea: have you ever slept together with your f/o(s)? What position do you like to sleep in - cuddled up, spooning, maybe separate? Do you sleep better with them?

But yes!! Muse likes to sleep on Mic’s chest or they like to spoon. They don’t care who is which spoon. They definitely sleep better with each other, especially Mic because Muse’s voice is naturally soothing enough to make someone fall asleep

Vanilla milkshake: what is your happy ending with them? Do you get married? Do you travel together? What future do you want the most with them?

AIGHT it’s time to bring out the big guns because I started thinking about Muse and Hizashi’s relationship and it made me Realize some things

Muse is a control freak. Not in the way one would typically think, as in being demanding or not compromising and what not, but in the sense that Muse is TERRIFIED of things not going the way they expect, to the point that they pretty much end up not really living life to its fullest and convincing themselves that their happy with basically being depressed and isolated. Course, this started to change after they got injured. At first they were even more depressed because they felt that all the structure in their life had disappeared, but after going through speech therapy and realizing that things could get better they kept trying and trying to recover what they lost until they basically forced themselves out of their comfort zone to move to Japan and train with Hizashi.

And one of the reasons why they fell in love with him is because Hizashi’s just... the complete opposite of that. He doesn’t get embarrassed when his crowds don’t give him the reaction he expects, he’s always wild and cheerful, and Muse realized that he’s exactly the sort of person they needed in their life/want to be because he helps them get out of their shell and be ok with not knowing what’s gonna happen next.

With Hizashi, there’s only one time when Muse reverts back to their control freak self, and that’s if he’s in danger. Muse knows full well that Hizashi can hold his own in a fight, but it doesn’t stop them from worrying because they know that hero work especially comes with a lot of unexpected events, and that one thing going wrong could mean losing him. And of course, just losing him is bad enough, but he means much more to Muse than just being their boyfriend. He’s the reason they got another shot at being a hero. He’s the reason why they became the person they wanted to become but were too scared to, and Muse is TERRIFIED of going back.

Another thing about Muse is that they’re used to being everything for everyone. Used to having friends who come to them for everything, so when they start dating Hizashi, they feel like they have to be everything for him and even get a bit jealous of Aizawa because they know that he has experiences with Hizashi that they can’t relate to or support him as well with. After Muse works at UA for a few months and realizes how tight knit the teachers are, they realize that they don’t have to be everything for Hizashi because being the only one that someone can confide to isn’t a burden that only one person has to have, and instead it’s a support network made up of many different people who provide different things for each other.
