There is room for everyone under the umbrella

Kysyin tuntemattomilta kokemuksia transpolilta, sekä kuinka paljon leikkaukset voi mahdollisesti maksaa. Vastauksia oli monia ja monenlaisia.

Otin myös kuvia lomakkeista mitä sain postissa ennen transpolille menemistä. Jotkut kysymykset olivat turhan persoonallisia ja toiset tuntuivat turhalta, joka sai miettimään "miks ne kysyy tätä?".

Lomakkeissa kysyttiin perus terveyttä, kykyjä huolehtimaan itsestään ja mielenterveyttä. Itse lomaketta täyttäessä mietin, "pitääkö mun esittää että en ole niin masentunu, kun oikeesti oon?". Jos sanon olevani masentunut, sanoisivatko taas että hoidot ei ole oikea-aikaisia?

Before Tumblr I never realized how shitty queer communities can be. Don’t get me wrong, there’s plenty of great people here who I follow, but being here is wild sometimes.

I’m 31, lived in small cities (in Finland) most of my life and found my queerness through my rl communities. I first heard about bisexuality when I was on sixt grade in school, when we had class about sexuality. I felt like hey, this is probably what I am. I didn’t have internet, I literally had a 3510i Nokia and I knew only one openly gay person in my whole town. I was in closet till I was about 17, and when I was about 23 I realized pansexual suited me better. Around that time I met first polyamorous people, and then later I realized I was poly too. Last year I realized I’m nonbinary. I’m glad I have good friends who are like fuck yes good for you babe! I actually have a friend who thought they were gay and realized they were straight! That happens all the time and it’s ok!

Oh and I’ve literally met one terf and one transmed in rl.

Here terfs, transmeds and panphobes keep telling people like me you a) don’t exist b) pretend c) are a transphobe. Just by being myself. This is stuff that NEVER even crossed my mind before! I couldn’t imagine bisexuals hating on pansexuals! Or someone saying I’m not really trans, when my own transcommunity is very open!

Like someone before me said, Tumblr doesn’t (hopefully) show you real queer communities. Most of stuff here is US centric, and very pointed aggressive terfy content keeps getting popularity when in rl it doesn’t and shouldn’t.
