Tove Jansson's comics had things to say about society, they were somewhat autobiographical and sincere because of it, while being accessible for children, but the current MoominCo is like Disney in the way it uses these comics like clipart on "Live Laugh Love" tote bags, magnets, mugs and other overpriced merch... while C&D-ing fan works which actually understand the characters

I recommend stealing the official Moomin merch from Prisma and on cruise ships between Tallinn and Helsinki
