And here’s my entry for the dadmight mash contest!

Sure!

- It's an AU without quirks (there are still powers and other supernatural stuff, but it's different from canon) in a more dystopian / post-apocalyptic universe.

- Everything started with the explosion of a meteorite. It was nothing extraordinary per se - it had already happened several times and humanity had developed the necessary weapons to protect themselves against it - but when it exploded, particles trapped in the rock were spread in the atmosphere.

- In the open air, the particles started to multiply. It was so small and slow at first that nobody noticed. Birds were the first cases of infection to be discovered.

- It works in the same way as radioactivity. However, while some people manage relatively well, dark marks appear on the flesh of some victims and corrode the body, distorting it. The blood also becomes thicker and blacker and the behavior becomes random and violent as the disease progresses and becomes more severe.

- Despite his brother's annoyance and interference, Yoichi was part of the research teams and often volunteered to go to the field. Unfortunately, his team found some meteor fragments and contracted the first serious mutations.

- AFO was already funding Kyudai's research, but after taking back his brother, he turned his attention to the meteor, the particles it produces and their effects.

- Despite many losses, humanity has managed to adapt. It took a lot of investment, but with the "research" sponsored by AFO, his group managed to create tools and technology that could block particle propagation and purify certain areas.

- At first, they were supposed to find a cure (officially, this is still the case) but as the research progressed, they ended up deviating to experiment on corpses, and then on living specimens, animals and humans.

When Miller was three he started complaining that his back hurt, and one night his mother noticed lumps forming under the skin and took him to medical. X-Rays showed new bones were growing and they resembled wings. From there was the most painful year of Miller’s life, which he wouldn’t remember, ending only when the skin was splitting and Abby decided to go on a hunch and cut the wings free, theorising that they were going to push their way out anyway. She was right and Miller didn’t feel any pain from his wings ever since.

Raven’s power manifested when she was seven and the only one who knew for years was Finn. (Haven’t decided what her power is yet sorry...)

Monty manifested aged twelve, the average age, but he might have manifested earlier because of the ‘invisible’ nature of his mutation and the fact he didn’t get in many fights or situations where his invulnerability would have been made apparent

Bellamy manifested when he was fifteen, a little late but not too late and he was almost placed in lock up for arson. Since it was a manifestation and not intentional Bellamy was pardoned, and given a teacher who helped him control his fire.

Murphy’s sickness that his father tried getting him medicine for was the first time he had ever gotten ill, and was actually his power manifesting. When Murphy healed his mother’s cut after his father was floated and she punched a mirror in their bathroom, she realised what his illness was (all children react differently, but given the healing/harming nature of Murphy’s powers it made him sick) she blamed him because it was just a manifestation and Murphy hadn’t needed the medicine.
