Clear Capsule are a Los Angeles-based trio, and maybe it’s due to geography, but like their modern day astral peers Dummy, yesteryear’s Autolux, and early Silversun Pickups, their shoegaze-spirited fizz riffs aim for a similar piece of deep space encounters in their loud sound. With one EP under their names in 2018′s Windowless Spaces, they’re returning at the beginning of February with its six-song follow-up Gravity Licker.

“Surface Dweller” is an amped introduction to an alien rock topography more reminiscent of the futuristic outer limits than anything likened to that which rests at our gravity. Guitarist Bryce Pulaski’s vocals hover above the terrain like helium gas while bassist Leon Mosburg and drummer JJ Degen pump out the fuel to blast their rocket further and further away from the ground. There’s an element of destruction to match within Pulaski’s lyrics, as he watches someone on a one-way mission to that fete. It’s purple-warped self-directed visuals provides a disorienting view from any direction. Watch and listen below...
