not really outdated, but probably uncommon by american standards. i don't think jack believes in anything like God, or gods in that way, but he's still pretty spiritual. things like going out to the beach late at night or early in the morning to talk to his dad, and interpetting the waves as responses from him from time to time. he's very much a believer that there's life in everything natural and organic, and even sometimes in the inorganic if enough purpose or love or general emotion is put into it.

A lot of stuff from his dad that he doesn't want in a storage unit, some old gear in boxes he hasn't put away yet, tools that he isn't using right now (most of them he'll lug up to his garage when he does need them), old CRT TV and VHS tapes, a sofa.
