/ WORLD'S DEEPEST MUSEUM
Beautifully lit with glowing LED lights, this science fiction like cavernous space carved deep underground – feels like it could be located on an alien planet. The ancient Salina Turda Salt Mines of Romania have been converted to the world’s largest salt mining museum, complete with centuries old wooden architecture, a playground and even a ferris wheel.
The mines were first excavated in the 17th century and provided a vast wealth of salt for the Romans. The museum is a great example of taking a former heavy industrial operation and creating something of artistic and cultural significance.
