[Clay Omi - he did his best yet I feel Omi will still have 400 more questions XD]
Well, Clay couldn't say he was surprised Omi asked him about the whole 'dating another man' thing, but he still thought they would've gone to Master Fung first.
"Uh, well, it's simple really," Clay shrugged, doing his best to keep it simple, "Some fellas like gals, and some fellas like other fellas, and some gals like other gals."
Clay began to explain, doing his best to explain it all,
"When a fella loves only other fellas, that's called bein' Gay, an' if gals only loves other gals, that's called bein' a Lesbian," Clay continued, "Then there's people like me, that like both fellas an' gals, that's called bein' Bi, an' then there's other people that aint interested in anybody."
Was this too much for Omi to take in in one go? Clay hoped not. He may be out now, but he still needed time to get used to being out himself.
"What's most important though, regardless of who people like, is that they're happy an' wanna be with that person, an' that they know it's okay to love who they love," Clay smiled, "An' if they aint interested in bein' with people, that's a'right too - bein' y'allself, an' bein' comfortable is the most important thing."
Something Clay had neglected for himself for way too long.
"Does that make sense lil Buckaroo?"
"Uh, well, it's simple really," Clay shrugged, doing his best to keep it simple, "Some fellas like gals, and some fellas like other fellas, and some gals like other gals."
Omi simply nodded his head when Clay began to explain. Clay, being the one dating another man after all, made it the most sense to answer Omi's confusion here. Other avenues hadn't...been the best to attempt after all. The temple may have a wealth of knowledge to offer, but it was all very outdated. Going off the book Omi found about women being very very out of date for how women are now at least.
"Ah very simple I see. So a girlfriend can still be a girl or boy" Omi stated feeling as if he understood just fine it was all interchangeable in his understanding at least that is. But from Clay's expression, it seemed that still was well wrong. "Is it different terms?"
"Bi, Gay...there are so many titles." Omi took it in best he could but he had to admit this was becoming a bit too much for even him? Which said a lot because Omi could easily identify material art moves, name shen gon wu and what they can do or teachings and qoutes of old monks.
But he had to admit this? Was a tad different for him. Maybe because romantic relationships were not something he ever took much thought into before. Omi flung his arms in front of himself and let his brow furrow in thought for a moment. So Clay was bi from where he said. So... did that mean he would also date a girl while dating Jack? It didn't seem like something Jack would like. What did that mean for Jack? Was he bi or gay? On that same line of thought, what about Kimiko and Raimundo? What about Omi? he got bashful when Kimiko hugged him and kissed his cheek, even. Omi did like when females gave him some attention. But, who he react the same to men? Chase gave him speical attetion at times but he felt that wasn't anywhere close.
"How do you know what title is yours Clay?" it seemed a fair question to ask about.
"What's most important though, regardless of who people like, is that they're happy an' wanna be with that person, an' that they know it's okay to love who they love,"
"An' if they aint interested in bein' with people, that's a'right too - bein' y'allself, an' bein' comfortable is the most important thing."
Omi took a moment to take in what Clay said to him. "Hmm I see" That actually cleared up a lot of the thoughts that went through his mind just now." Expect for one thing.
"I looked, but all the temple seems to have is books on traditional marriage, like rites that must be performed and such. So? Do two men still need to give livestock? Is that why Jack Spicer sought you out? Because your family owns so many animals?"
It seemed a good place to start, at least to Omi. Everyone had given him such odd looks when he asked during the whole well uncovering of Clay's secret. But Omi was just confused about the fact that two men could date. Omi's world was pretty small. Beyond the temple's walls lay a vast unknown to the young monk. In a way, it was nice to have the chance to speak to Clay about all this.
Omi missed these moments.
Them sitting in the temple gardens together. Maybe he could have asked Master Fung, maybe he should have but having Clay back? And seeing as this was part of why they lost him in the first place? It just felt right to.
