âIf itâs any consolation, I donât think he did it to fuck with you. He and I were a thing after we stopped. Heâs been annoying me for a while so I just agreed stupidly before asking what the hell I was getting myself intoâ she reasoned, it was clear by the pitiful wave she shot in Jackâs direction that sheâd sooner sit on a cactus than go there with him again. Sofia always tried to be kind but frankly he had bored her to death, there was only so long she could keep that sweetly fake smile plastered on. Not that sheâd admit it but it probably didnât help going straight from Xavier to him, having some high expectations to live up to. âYou always did know how to throw a party, lâll give ya that.â she glanced around, it was already crowded and people still shuffling in. When her eyes settled on him again, she gave a little nod with a hint of a smirk. âAnything but tequila, iâm still scarred after that night.â
God it was like she was digging Jack his own grave and didnât even realize it, but that wasnât too surprising. Sofia wasnât the type to try and set someone up for the royal ass kicking that was going to follow. âI didnât realize that.â Was his only response and he kept his tone light before glancing over at Jack. Maybe a broken jaw too. He didnât need to be able to talk. Taking another swig from his bottle he turned to look back at the woman. âI like throwing parties. Gives me something to do and since I stopped renting out the rooms the place is empty a lot of the time.â But it had been enjoyable to have three other people in the house constantly. He smirked before motioning with his head towards the back door. âNot my fault you canât handle your tequila Sof.â He chuckled before pushing through the crowd and entering the kitchen. âBut you were a lot of fun.â
