Haha, isn't it so funny how the PC just ruined that peasant's entire life by stealing his most valuable possession just to fulfill a passing want? It's great that there will be no consequences for her actions and none of the other people at the table will hold her accountable.
Can you even imagine such a thing? Just last week I pushed my buddy in front of a Ferrari I wanted and drove it off while the owner's back was turned.
D&D teaches players Want-Therefore-Get. It's instant gratification in a box, since the only consequences that can be applied are the ones written out in the module. DMs and other players are willing to overlook anything, no matter how heinous, in order to get back to whatever the book says they're supposed to be playing.
