Tired of readings ads everywhere when you drive or use the bus? I am. Thanks to the efforts of these utilitarian individuals, 20 bus benches will now feature art instead of 'drone creating' ads.

MURALprojectLA went to the LA Planning Commission Meeting on Thursday to see the outcome of the mural ordinance. Basically this ordinance would create a fee and place restrictions on how/where murals can be painted.

First off, if you have never been to city hall, it is B e a u t i f u l. (pictures up soon)

There were paintings on the ceilings and all around the wall that really portrayed the culture and history of the building.

Second, I suggest everyone go to at least one city council meeting, just to see elected officials at work and how they interact with the community.

Is LA the Creative or Anti-Creative City:

LA may be one of the top 5 cities populated with artists, but is it built for artists, ... how does policy affect the dynamics and development of creativity?

There is a Change.org Petition going around to stop the passage of the ordinance as is. It is a call for a revision.

If you cannot attend the City Hall Meeting tomorrow, be sure to sign this petition and spread the word. This would greatly affect the dynamic of LA city. Do not let them ruin the public art spaces we see in our neighborhoods!!
