‘The Stamp Of Incarceration’ Work by Shepard Fairey in Philadelphia, in collaboration with inmates at Graterford Prison. The artwork was part of a series that took aim at criminal justice, mass incarceration and prison reform by focusing on former inmates who are doing positive things. Highlighted here is James Anderson, a reformed L.A. gang member who now works to keep others out of prison. Created in 2015 with support from Mural Arts.

Stoked for what might be summer’s biggest literary block party tomorrow, July 2nd at 6pm-10pm! Presented at the @barnesfoundation for #BarnesOnTheBlock, in partnership with @MuralArts, to kick off @wawa’s @july4thphilly weekend. Stop by my booth and commission a typewritten poem on any topic! I’ll also have the community scroll set up, so that you can try your hand at an old-fashioned typewriter and add your words to a community poem on the themes of “Light”. There’s going to be food trucks, a beer garden, live music and poetry, an open mic #StorySlam hosted by @wethepeoplestage, demos by local artists, a film screening featuring films curated by @blackstarfest, and so much more.
