Non-metal shirt or not, a little slip up in attire wasn't going to be enough to ruin the night. Ever since the plans had been made to attend a metal concert with Eddie Munson, the person who had gotten him more heavily into the music and inspired him to learn to play the guitar, Mike had been counting down the days. His friends knew about it because it was basically all he talked about, and Nancy had ended up getting her hands on the bit of information too, but he'd made her swear that she wouldn't tell their parents. If she tried anything, he knew exactly how to get her into trouble just as easily. He was her little brother, after all, so being a pain in her ass was all part of the sibling dynamic.
Jewelry-clad fingers buried themselves in his hair, a ruffling motion messing it up and bringing a grin to his lips. He was used to the invasion of personal space when it came to Eddie, and this was luckily on the tamer scale. It was the headlocks that he dreaded, knuckles rubbing painfully against his scalp while he fought to escape his hold. Nevertheless, those playfully antics and clownery were what made Eddie, well, Eddie. He was a goofball through and through, theatrical and fun-loving and, somehow, nerdy but so cool at the same time. At least Mike thought so, even if everyone else wanted to make fun of him.
❝Without a job it's just...It's hard, you know?❞ He had an allowance, but he'd never thought about putting it towards clothes before since what he wore never bothered him any -- and it still didn't, actually. Even if his look wasn't exactly fit for a metal concert and Eddie would frequently tease him for wearing things from the GAP, he'd never been overly concerned with his style. ❝But I mean, I guess I could start putting my allowance towards other things besides the arcade,❞ Mike continued, bony fingers raking through his hair to even it back out. ❝I've actually been thinking about saving up for a guitar. I thought, I dunno, maybe it'd be sort of cool if I could play something for El—uh, Jane—the next time I see her.❞
