Please come over! Here's the motto of the serie :
"Munich again stands for : Once again, magic comes from where you don't expect it. You don't expect Munich to be a city of hidden beauty, but it is : for a respectable number of people, Munich is a meeting point to make great things happen. Let's make it known. The Munich Scene is not defined by borders, but by people gathering together to touch audiences, here."
Can't wait to share all this magic with you guys!
A Munich Again success story!
In the same vibe as the Munich Again Thursdays that will start soon at Rote Sonne, here is something I've been working on for some time that makes me very proud to be, quite humbly, one of the people working on making artists from Munich known to the audiences in this city, and abroad.
Since this summer, on my last trip to Munich, I've been working quite closely with a band that I've loved from the start of my quite epic journey through the Munich Scene, The Sound of Money. The Sound of Money were to me one of those hidden gems that not enough people knew about : their "Throw Money" debut album was on my regular listening playlists for three years now, an album of flawless production, humour and catchy retro riffs. This summer, the band came to me with a nearly finished new album, a complete, whole piece of touching playfulness that pays tribute to the sounds of the 60's in a contemporary way, and with the highest of respects. I decided to help them get this release out there, instantly. The concept (that you can read on their Facebook page), the artwork, the production, everything was there. It was a piece that needed to be released, that needed to sit in record stores for people to fall in love with, everywhere.
So we started working together. We found the amazingly enthusiastic music lovers working under the BB.Island banner, and a partnership was born. Today, the first single is out and supported by a mesmerizing music video by one of the band members himself. I am so proud to see this figurative child (with many many parents) come to life, and I look very much forward to see where things go from now on.
Welcome to the world, "More? Why not!", the second The Sound of Money album!
You know what guys?
I miss this place.

Munich Underground Scene Review 2020-2024 – #munich again
A conversation in Montreal about the Munich image problem
The debate about the image problem in Munich is extremely interesting, and more than necessary. I strongly recommend to read the initial article, the counter-article, the Keno answer and the follow-up before reading this article.
Yesterday, I sat down in the Montreal Atomic Café with Dennis Kastrup, a friend of mine that also shares his time between Germany and Canada. Dennis is a music journalist that work primarily for radio stations in Berlin. He has followed the image problem debate, and accepted to meet me to continue (publicly this time) our year-long talk about the Munich Scene : a conversation in slightly broken English between an insider and an outsider.
