Some more thoughts on Reisi’s family’s brief experience with superpowers:
Taisi is sooooo disappointed that he “didn’t get any”
All of the vegetables Hisashi pickled out of curiosity turned out just like what would have been made with their house rice bran pickle bed. Literally just exactly like it.
They ask Reisi what his superpower was: “Ah, that is a good question. I briefly had the power to unlock doors.” It is not untrue, after all--he could re-order the locks in a tumbler to align them, and he does not have that power any more.
Taisi goes, “THAT IS SO COOL YOU COULD’VE BEEN THE BEST THIEF WITH THAT” and then adds, “but yeah, I guess you probably wouldn’t want that, since you’re a civil service worker and all and you like, work for the government.”
Taisi mayyyy have secret Robin Hood dreams.
Umi and Kai make plans for if they ever get their superpowers back again, for their superhero personas. Umi will be the decoy, and Kai will have to do all of the hard work. Kai is not sure about this plan, but Umi is convinced it is a great one.
Manami on occasion splashes water at people and goes “YEP! STILL GOT IT”
Yumiko misses how she briefly felt terrifying and powerful, so she starts doing more strength training exercises. Hisashi thinks his strong wife is really really cool.
