Mun Base Troubles
So...I'm having troubles assembling a Mun base.
In fact, I'm having trouble even TESTING assembling a Mun base.
My thought was this: have a 5-module Mun base: A center base/comm center, with 4 attaching modules (living quarters, fuel bay, science bay, something else) attaching on each of the 4 sides of the central hub.
Here is the problem: Every test I've ever tried to run regarding this has ended in spectacular failure.
I've tried tests of landing on wheels on Kerbin - the wheels break without fail.
I've tried driving modules without even launching them, and usually they don't go anywhere and if they do, usually the modules get torn apart in the process.
I've tried a thing where I basically use Mun carts to move the modules for me, but they seem to barely move themselves, much less the modules.
I realize that all of these things might work on the Mun itself due to it's lower gravity, but I'd really like to test things first.
I suppose I could give up on that and just try to land pieces near each other, except I haven't even been able to do that. I can get things within about 3-5km on the Mun, which is close, but it's still not really that good for a Mun base. I shouldn't have to drive a buggy for an hour between modules.
So, yeah, Mun base problems.
