I'm thinking about starting a community for multiply marginalized folks... Bel and I have just been having a hell of a time trying to make friends in spaces we once would have been able to, due to homelessness and also the inexorable march of time.
Queer people don't always understand being disabled. Other disabled people don't understand being queer. People in MH recovery spaces are hostile to people w/ severe trauma, including ppl with BPD. Even in disability-centereed spaces we get shunned for fucking something- being too young, having rarer symptoms and disorders, being autistic, simply not being part of the clique, idfk.
And fully none of them understand being homeless.
Even among other outcasts, we are unwelcome and off-putting. The other people who understand this aren't people in the same demographics as us; they are other people who are part of multiple demographics that are marginalized.
And ykw I haven't heard anyone use that term in years anyway. If I search "multiply marginalized" on here, I can find a few folks using it as an MA boost tag, but otherwise, I get posts from, like, fucking 2015. No wonder nobody gives a damn about intersectional politics anymore, we aren't fucking talking about them...!
If you also have this problem and think this might appeal to you pls leave a like or something. I might just go ahead and do it... Chronic Pain Gang took off a LOT more than I thought it would, and I made that community on a whim.
