We can't believe we're doing another Jasico challenge already! Buckle up, this is every thing you need to know about signing up for Jasico Secret Santa 2023.

It's in the second section of the form that it starts getting interesting. You'll have to select what kinds of gifts you are able to create (e.g. fanfiction, fanart, etc). This is so we can predict what kinds of media we're having this time around.

You'll also list things you're willing to create for (e.g. tropes, aus, etc). That is so we can match you with a giftee who is possibly asking for something you're willing to produce. Below that, you will say topics you wouldn't be able to crate or receive (e.g. triggers and squirks or anything you don't feel comfortable with).

In the last section, you are requested to say three wishes. Those are things you'd like to see in your gift. For example:

Wish #1: Angst

Wish #2: No powers AU

Wish #3: First Kiss

You will be matched with someone who can create something with at least one of your wishes. And that's it! If you have any questions, check the FAQ or send us an ask.

ABOUT THE EVENT

Jasico Secret Santa is a Christmas themed gift exchange. It's a multimedia event so participants can create fanfictions, fanarts, gifs, video edits and many more!

Santas will sign-up and based on what is submitted, you will be matched with your giftee, the person for whom you will crate for.

Once you finish making your gift, you will send it via e-mail and the mods will then post your works anonymously to the blog in a posting period. A list of participants will be posted at the first day of posting so participants can try to guess who their Santa is.

You were heard, so here it is! Jasico Secret Santa 2023!

More information about it will come out very soon but for now, what can be said about it is that it’ll work as a regular multimedia gift exchange, with the bonus of a Christmas theme!

FAQ

Please make sure you read this before sending an ask.

I want to post my work in my AO3 account. Is that possible?

Yes! But when you post to AO3, remember to put your work in the event's Collection. That's so it remains anonymous until the reveal. On your submission, you will put the link to the fic.

How do I submit my work when it's done?

You will send it via e-mail. Remember to also put your Tumblr and AO3, if you posted the gift there.

What if I can’t complete my gift in time?

If that happens, please tell us as soon as possible so we can get a Pinch Hitter to fulfill the gift. We don’t want anyone to end up without one.

How do I sign up to be a Pinch Hitter or a Beta Reader?

Go to this post and fill the form following the instructions. We’d be very grateful if you did this, we really want to assure that no one ends up without a gift, and that they can also have someone to look over their work if they want to.

Is there a min/max word-count for fanfiction?

There is no max, but we ask that you write at least 2,500 words.

What about complection status for art? What’s the bare minimum?

We ask artists to at least do the lineart on their piece before submitting it.

Where am I going to receive the assignment?

You will see that upon signing-up, you’ll have to inform us your e-mail. That’s the one we’re going to send your assignment to.

Do I have to use all of my giftee’s wishes?

No, you don’t. We matched you with someone for whom you’d be able to fulfill at least one wish.

How do I ask for a Beta Reader?

Just send us a message saying that you’d like a beta to the same e-mail you will receive you assignment from, and we’ll arrange you one based on what type of beta’ing you need.
