More playing with water droplets, this time on a pink background. This is mostly watercolour, with a small amount of colour pencil over the top to add definition to the edges of each drop, plus white gel pen for the highlight. This is still very much an experiment. I started with the watercolour but didn't think it was crisp enough, hence adding the pencil. I started out with a black and white Polychromos, but the black was too harsh, so switched to my trusty WHSmiths colour pencils which while a lot harder, I have a range of colours so was able to give a more subtle effect for the shadows. I kept to the white Polychromos pencil throughout for blending because it's softer and more opaque.
