At first he tries to scrub the tears away, but it doesn't do any good. They just keep coming. So he stands alone in that alley with the stain on the ground, surrounded by garbage and his worst memories.

And he lets himself cry, until the tears dry up on their own.

He wouldn't exactly say he feels better, but he feels– lighter.

That light feeling builds, and it starts to feel less like weightlessness and more like– well, like light. Bright and warm, like there's a star shining inside his ribcage.

Kala-Nemi settles into the back of his mind. Her gentle machine hum echoes behind his thoughts like a sutra, or maybe a lullaby. He knows that the road ahead still won't be easy, but it's illuminated now. He doesn't have to stumble around in the dark alone.

He leaves the alley behind, heading for the glow of the street lamps of the station.

Sanada-san is waiting for him, right where he said he'd be.
