3 Fantastically underrated animated films you NEED to watch. by Mujamel Khan
Animated films have been a catalyst for many peoples careers and for great childhoods. But there are several hidden gems you have never heard of. Since self isolation is present, this is the perfect time to check out these picks.
1. The Iron Giant 1999
You probably heard of this film but never actually checked it out. This film has amazing visuals thanks to the Disney-esque inspired hand drawn art with the exception of the Iron Giant itself, That big guy was made with CGI back when CGI wasn’t as accessible. Critics love this film for its emotional story and fantastic visuals.
2. Spirited Away 2001
Another film that is commonly mentioned in underrated films is Studio Ghibli’s Spirited Away, This gem is beautifully animated in the iconic anime/manga style, tells a strange yet interesting story that will always want you asking what will happen next. Not only is it only was it shown in Japan but it also had a worldwide release were it exploded in popularity and was wildly praised.
3. Megamind 2010
This film is the odd one out here in that its an amazing film but it didn’t perform well in. Even though its a superhero film it really shines in the story and the way the characters are represented. The story is really meaningful with the character arcs being told and resolved by the end of the film giving the feeling of completion when you finish the film. It has Will Ferrell as the main protagonist and even has Brad Pitt as the nemesis to Megamind.
Mujamel Khan
Mujamel Khan is a 21 year old working class music producer, from Penge. He grew up in a traditional Muslim family and the youngest in a big family. At a young age, he dreamed of being a F1 driver as his eldest brothers interest in cars stuck to him like pollen on a bee. Music was also a essential catalyst for Mujamel growing up, as it feed his creativity to make music in the future.
Mujamel studied Media mainly and had music technology as a bonus subject in school to understand the basics. Such as in media he would learn how to Frame and Plan for a Short film, to Writing a script and Editing the finished Product.
He may seem quite but he sure has a bouncy attitude and will speak up when his voice needs to be heard but will always take other peoples opinions into account to make the best end product.
Now he create remixes of Video game Music and occasionally make original compositions in his spare time. He shares his work online which has received both positive and negative feedback from many people. This gives him the motivation to research on better ways to improve on his music which is evident in his later releases. Whilst music is Mujamel’s Hobby he would love to jump into the Film or TV industry. The idea of creating a flim or TV show has fascinated Mujamel, with alternate ideas on how he would shoot the shots to tell the story in his eyes.
