Over the months, Max found himself frequently in the company of his ex-girlfriend, the awkwardness of their first few meetings after years of separation still there, but not nearly as strong as it had been at the beginning. It seemed as though the two were finally beginning to get to a point of... normalcy in their relationship. No longer were they estranged ex-lovers, or even strangers who wanted nothing to do with each other-- Max liked to believe that he and Muffy were  friends again, of a sort, so of course he decides to send her some flowers for the festival.

A pink rose and blue iris. Just enough to express his interest and hopefulness for the direction their relationship was currently going in, but not too obvious or heavy handed-- perfect!

Happy Flower Festival! I do hope the days have been treating you well... I know you have been busy with work, but I would very much like if we could go out again. Just let me know if you’re interested, and we can arrange something.

Alicia was never one to have too many girl friends. She always knew that other women saw her as competition and found her confidence intimidating. Most would call her conceited, but she found no shame in loving and flaunting what she has. She never let those who had less self-esteem than her bring down her own. She was not their problem, they were their own.

However, there was one other person that she had met that was close to her level, if not already on it - her neighbor. The fair-skinned blonde had lived next to Alicia for some time now and at their first meeting they clicked. As if back in high school, they gossiped, talked about boys, and now had girls’ nights out and in. Needless to say, this was one of the few long lasting friendships that she actually enjoyed and looked forward to.

Alicia was on her way home from work early this evening when she decided to stop by a shop and pick up a few snacks and drinks. The best thing about Muffy and Alicia was that they didn’t need prior planning or an invitation to hang out. If the other wanted to come over, the door was always open.

“You better be home.”
